Hey Ed033, hope you are well mate.
Wondered whether you have any advice / guidance from your vast knowledge.
I had a call from my energy company stating that they can book me in for a free Smart meter. I mentioned that out of personal choice, i didn't want one. The person on the other end tried to force out the reasons (lets break it down, why don't you provide meter readings etc, someone actually visits my home to do this). I kept saying its my personal choice. He wasn't having it and got irate - you'll be called again about why you don't want one, to which I said, call as many times as you want (i'll just ignore the call).
What are some the best things to tell these people / company's so they don't keep harassing to have one installed, and I suspect they are doing this and others country wide!
Additionally Ed033, it's hard to find a decent energy supplier. do you or others that visit this page know of a good supplier that doesn't force Smart meter's down ones throat, so to speak?
{Ed033's Note - Octopus Energy appear to be higher rated compared to others.
In theory, it's like you said, if you've already told them you're opting out, then they shouldn't contact you for at least a reasonable time period otherwise it makes sense it is harassment.
Sending them a document, such as a Notice of Liability, would be better, I think.

Fantastic Ed033. Your response is very much appreciated. I'd never considered Octopus previously, but will check them out and the Notice of Liability. Thanks again.
Cheers,
Kdirjb.
