If I could send a standing ovation via a post, I would Ed001.

I have no problem with Mrs E, as I'm sure you dont, but have a real problem with people that use the tact she has, when have no real justification for their arguments or beliefs, yet try and laugh down others.

The Capitalistic, materilistic, Western world that the majority of here live in, has rules and regulations that are based more in fantasy than fact. Especially the financially sector, but unfortunately most people just play along, blindly following eachother.

Yourself and Ed033 most certainly need to do a podcast for this site. Would be fascinating. Maybe some for the real hardcore theorists on the page, and some on topics like this, Ganghis Khan etc. as I know your knowledge of history is right. I think doing something like that would be hugely beneficial to help educate people, including myself.

i myself can not send links because of this crap laptop but
big corporations like amazon/starbucks etc do not pay tax because they report losses every year ,as a example the chief exec of starbucks mark fox reckons it will be 2017 when they will make a profit ,in other words that's code for profits in the past and present are shipped off overseas .

sorry I don't know if we own or lease trident

you want a leader to win the next election so does that mean going more right like blair since milliband was so left wing? or do we go to our roots and try to engage the sleeping 30 to 40%?forget the media they are there as a tool to frighten the masses with bile propaganda if you watch that documentary you will know were I am coming from.

as for the other two candidates cooper concerns me more than burnham ,her and edd balls milking the expenses ,flipping there home three times does not sit right with me, as for burnham underneath I think he wants to do right but he's a follower never a leader, that's just my take on it.

C'mon Franky corporation tax is not zero.

I never said I was against any of his proposals and I've also said the only candidate I've ruled out is Liz Kendall - I'm listening to both sides of the arguments as I don't want the equivalent of tunnel vision. You guys think it shouldn't do that and it's talking down or whatever, that's your opinion but I'm not phased either way.

I could be wrong but I'm sure I read you joined the Labour Party solely to vote for Jeremy Corbyn. I joined after the referendum because I want a Labour Government. I'm also a Shop,Steward with UNISON and part of their Labour Link (yes the largest trade union is still affiliated to Labour)

My initial post was this 'They have to look at that, Labour can't implement any of their policies whilst in opposition and we have a majority Tory Govt' and I still stand by this - Labour including Jeremy Corbyn cannot implement any of their polices whilst in opposition, they have to be elected.

With regards Corporation Tax - Labour were criticised for having it in their manifesto and could be a reason they lost and is one reason Ed Miliband was accused of being too left wing. I agree that corporation tax should be raised however the downside is businesses will recoup this lost revenue elsewhere - lower wages, increase their prices etc.

When Labour announced their plans to increase corporation tax the headlines were 'Labour's corporation tax plans would be a disaster for investment and growth' (I would post links but this iPad doesn't let me on this site for some reason)

You can correct me on this if you want, I'm open to knowledge - our nuclear weapons, we don't make them or own them? They are leased from America? No sure - I'd like to cut our links with America, no harm to Americans but it feels we are their puppets at times.

I'm opposed to trident and do recognise that we have reduced the amount we have. I also support multilateral disarmament (Strange that SNP still want to remain part of NATO if independent and support conventional weapons)

Red Tories and Tory lite and just not terms I'm interested in but that is just my opinion. Labours manifesto was nothing like the Tories, - if we had won Bedroom tax would have been gone within 100 days and zero hour contracts, this is not Tory policies.

As I've said, I joined Labour, vote Labour and want a Labour Government and is the reason I want a leader that the UK will vote for and the reason I listen to all arguments no matter what.

yes kim we need a strategy on energy but the main point is we have better alternative options out there ,solar/wind/waves

as for trident my personal opinion is the pros outweigh the cons of getting shut of it.

No that's fair enough, as I said education should be free, I just think there should be more of a drive for technical careers like engineers and scientists to make the technology of the future, to help more people. Most of the problems in the world we could solve through our inventiveness.

Regards energy production you need a clear and coherent strategy. At the last election nobody really had one. And it is a something that needs tackling as the gas and oil supply is too unstable, the nuclear option is dangerous and your infrastructure is creaking. I'm not really a fan of wind power, especially onshore, but tidal power could work fantastically well.

Lastly regards trident I understand but it kept the peace between our sides for half a century with only 2 serious episodes. Cuba in '62 and Able Archer '83. Look at India and Pakistan? How many wars since 1947? And how many since both had the bomb? Sure i'd like rid of them but you couldn't leave yourself defenceless and reliant on the Americans. And of course people would vote for lower taxes but people vote on the x factor thinking its a talent contest.

MRS E you are missing my whole point , its not what's in LAB manifesto that makes them similar to the tories ,its NOT what's in it.

tution fees
stance on the middle east
no tackling cooperation tax etc
the things that I have stated on previous posts ,

i might be phrasing my posts wrong but that's what I meant.

But please just to finish this will either you or anyone else give me a policy that was in Labour's manifesto that was the same as the Tories?

I can't debate with highly strung guys who skip around a hard fact

free student places should be a given , how many nurses/doctors come from abroad?we should open it up so our children are qualified to go into the profession , my daughter is on a gap year down under but when she comes back she is going to finish of her law degree ,shes saddled with debt already so now shes thinking of going to germany(i think berlin) to finish her course because its free ,which by the way I am proud of but it should not have to be that way, I want my youngest daughter to be able to go to uni and study what ever field she wants to go in for free.

as for trident if there was a referendum on keeping it and paying higher taxes or getting shut of it and paying lower taxes I am pretty sure it would be gone,as for the other countries keeping it ,all it takes is 1 nutter to set ww3 off and no matter if he had trident it would not save me or my family .

energy , denmark's energy is made up of 40% renewable energy with windpower generating a 140% of denmark's electricity demands ,
the technology is out there but because the rich can not make any money from it the fracking proposal gets pushed forward.

I actually agree with most of those policies Franky.

Tax avoidance goes without saying.

Free student places likewise, but I'd have to caveat that saying so many places should be technical subjects like science and engineering and less subjects like law, psychology and media.

Fracking again seems obvious. Not enough evidence to suggest that it is safe. But again a caveat how do you sort out your long term power needs?

Peace talks in all for, but good luck in getting everyone else to take it seriously.

Public ownership if done correctly can be a good thing. But you have to avoid the levels of corruption that existed in the USSR or the inefficiencies that existed in 1970s Britain. This isn't me saying I agreed with privatisation just that they were ran poorly. Some of this was deliberate to cause privatisation so you would need to embed safeguards.

And the one I disagree with is trident. Sure if everyone else scraps them then great. But in a world where so many unpredictable powers like Russia, China, America, India, Israel, Pakistan and north Korea all have them then I would advise keeping them.

i was being conservative edd (pardon the pun ) with % , I am pretty sure for the last 20 odd years its been between 30 to 40 % that never voted , in fact when blair was in power I and most of my family never voted.

why do skinner and corbyn stay in the lab party?pretty sure they they were brought up on real lab values and judging by skinner and corbyns stance on going against the parties stance on like for example iraq etc and let's be honest they are very popular in there constituency because they have been voted in for the last 30 years because of there views .

i knew hillsbourough will eventually will come out with burnham , let me make this very clear MRS E, THIS WAS COMING OUT BEFORE BURNHAM, I have a good mate who me and him went the games back in the day ,i slept in that date(long story) he went and one of his counsins died also one of the wife's relatives died,i am not going into detail but I can assure you this was coming out, LAB knew this and it was damage control , papers will show in the future that murdoch asked blair not to look the families appeal and jack straw conveniently skipped over the main points of any inquest , if you go back in time blair was the only LAB prime minister who never got well and truly trashed by murdoch or right wing press and to this day they still use him as a yardstick ,
did burnham speed up process? yes he did with the backing of his bosses who knew it was a matter of time before this would come out.

as for policies in 2015 that that are the same as LAB, the welfare bill are pretty much the same , the term torylite sticks to mind,
1 party taking of the poor another party taking a little bit less of the poor is not what I call a clear difference , and edd milliband was classed as too left wing for gods sake , so that means lab have to go more right wing to get in power?

honest to god I see it on twitter I see it DAILY on the media ,corbyn vision is fantasy blah blah blah ,its propaganda ,
again mrs e out of interest which of the many things that JC has proposed do you dissagree with?
anti fracking?
free student places?
trident?
public ownership of transport/energy?
peace talks?
tax avoidence?

the other two (not including kendall she is more of a tory than a tory)

will use the same blueprint as blair and that will only mean one thing more conflict in the middle east and more grinding down the poorest .
with corbyn I can see genuine hope ,this guy reminds me of the leaders in south america in the late 80s/90s its a very similar situation without the violence , there's a documentary called south of the border on youtube you could check out below?

The mines are not flooded and nobody has bronchitis - is that what your telling me? You would reopen them & send guys back down with no second thought?

Sorry Ed001, you've just thrown insults but given absolutely no examples of how Labour made the rich richer? The rich 'blame' Labour for crashing the economy for being too soft with the Welfare State and NHS!

You are opposing for the sake of opposing but offering no alternative - no you can't just print money, that is fantasy stuff. Can I ask did you ever have a season ticket for Anfield and if so why? This is a luxury and you should have given this money to the poor.

Franky - Jeremy Corbyn is a LABOUR MP and has been a Labour Party member longer than I've been alive, same with guys like Denis Skinner.

If Labour was the same as the Tories do you honestly think these guys would have stuck around. Please remember the media is no friend of the left wing and Andy Burnham has been very instumental with the Hillsborough inquiry so much so some won't back him through fear of how tough Murdoch's media will be on him. He recently refused to give an interview to the S×n for his leadership campaign. Tom Watson running for deputy isn't far at his back on the Murdoch hit list.

With regards the Poll Tax, if it was splitting hairs why was there not the same demonstrations?

If you think Labour and Tory are the same, I will ask again, what policies in Labours 2015 General Election was the same as the Tories?

In his first 2 terms in charge Tony Blair was an excellent Prime Minister however totally agree all the good he did is overshadowed by Iraq. He's still the best Prime Minister in my lifetime and Labour have done more for this Country side the end of the 2nd World War than any other Party - anyone thinking otherwise has fell hook line and sinker for the right wing media propaganda.

No, I haven't voted yet. I'm still thinking about it but I've ruled out Liz Kendall. No doubt Jeremy will make me feel good about myself but is that enough?

1. The Government can't solve UK problems by creating money, this is irresponsible and fantasy stuff.

2. Jeremy plans to pay for all his spending commitments from a 120bn tax crackdown - sound too good to be true, that's because it is

3. He wants to reopen mines regardless that they closed due to serious flooding and left a legacy of ill health.

splitting hairs council tax better than the poll tax
bit like hanging or drowning as for blair to me he is as bad as thatcher ,with thatcher you knew the poor were going to get fleeced, blair on the other hand done as much damage to the working class as thatcher with his treatment of the unions, I won't go into his role in the middle east because I could be here another hour ,

i really don't see were you get the notion that lab are any different to cons, this corbyn propaganda proves that , getting attacked daily from every party and media outlet ,honest to god it drives me nuts when people say he's too left, do we all want wars?do we all want fracking? do we all want trident? do we all want massive cooperations not getting taxed?do we all want energy and transport firms charging what they want?

this will be the first time in 30 odd years that there will be a clear difference between the two parties and before people jump on the bandwagon about too left ,think about this over a quarter of the uk population do not vote, why? maybe its for the reasons I have stated about the parties being similar, now do you think any of the people that don't vote are tories? I very much doubt it because they have to much to lose , so that leaves the 25% or more who are not inspired by any of them .

your other points about the monarchy and political correctness I agree with .

out of interest MRS E have you voted in this lab election if not who would you have voted for?

Early to mid 90s Russia was not a fun place. After the gang of 8 tried to topple Gorbachev and failed, and we somehow ended up with buffoon Boris in charge the game changed. The USSR broke up. For its part in the coup Yeltsin ordered the KGB broken up. Even though a lot of us had remained loyal to the state. With a reduced agency a lot of the old guard were pensioned off, some found their skills in demand by the new type of businessmen, some set up on their own. Crazy times. I kept my job, missed out on promotion and eventually whilst advising a committee regards the future of Russian intelligence things got heated. I told buffoon Boris where to go, resigned and that was it. Always had a temper. Comes from having lots of older brothers. Fortunately they was content with shifting me out, so we went abroad.

Exactly Ed033!

I don't want a lawless society or anarchy so what kind of Government do we want? Westminster needs a total overhaul.

Labour might not have done away with House of Lords but they did its biggest reform in decades (if not centuary).

For what's it's worth I'd do away with the Royals, I find them a needless expense.

I get fed-up with political correctness and nanny state mentality.

The reason Labour are not in Goverment is their manifesto was too left wing - find me 1 item that was the same as the Tories. If you can't find any then you've been conned.

Council Tax is far better than poll tax. Labour fought Thatcher tooth and nail but She was still voted in 3 times and this was not because we couldn't tell the difference.

I know this comes as a shock to some but we have folk in our Country who do not want to pay for an NHS & welfare state that they never use. These folk vote Tory as they see Labour as too soft on the economy etc.

The Welfare State, NHS, defence etc isn't paid for by itself - every working UK citizen pays for them.

Labour & Tory never have been, never will be the same. Having taken a step back from the Scottish referendum (I was a staunch Yes) what we are fighting against is nationalism in its ugliest form. I'm quite surprised it's not been picked up upon on this page.

What has been brought in up here for example: -

Offensive behaviour at Football Act - widely criticised by human rights groups
Named Persons Legislation
Centralised Police force which left 2 dead on the side of the road the other week
Scottish Police Force spying on journalists

I could go on further but nationalism is no democracy and the Scottish First Minister is the highest paid politician in the UK incidentally. Champagne socialism?

Franky which Party has done more for you in your lifetime, who has been the best Prime Minister - I bet it's Labour & Tony Blair (war criminal)
