It's very possible. And Japan is a very, very rare case, as there are two dominant religions there and they actively praise each other. If you look at Europe, with Catholicism and Judaism, they've pretty much always been at conflict.
Same with Protestants and Catholics, the different branches of Islam are at war with each other, just look at the middle-east.
But to continue with what you're saying, it's almost certain that things get covered up and hidden from public knowledge, especially in the US and Britain.
Two major cover ups that have been exposed are the Hillsborough disaster in the UK and MK Ultra in the US. So from this alone, we can say with certainty that they are covering something up somewhere along the lines. But so many people make so many accusations about cover ups, it's difficult to assess which ones are real and which ones are just in the way of us finding the real ones.

Yes hsf I agree that religion doesn't have the same grip it did before the arrival of mass media. But it is still huge and enormously influential even in the west. I know what you mean about the type of 3rd world country that is more likely to be devoutly religious, but you could say the same about the US, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Japan.
For me religion is just brainwashing on a mass scale. The establishment know that if that spell is broken then it could be very damaging. So they will do everything they can to keep us in the dark about anything they find that will challenge the status quo.

OIrish Kev 1, a lot of that can be explained through evolution and climate change.
Neanderthals were in Europe I believe and they were wiped out by what's known as anatomically modern Humans moving into Europe from Africa.
Graham Hancock and Randall Carlson have some very interesting theories on the Homogenus, I would recommend reading or watching their stuff.

Rian, would you not say that Religion has past its sell by date? It's not dead in the water just yet, but there are very few cultures that take religion seriously these days. Isn't it also funny, that the ones that do, are usually countries that are torn apart by famine, war or a dictatorship?

I know nothing about astronomy hsf, and I'll happily take your word for it.
I wouldn't however underestimate the potential damage that a mass questioning of mainstream religion could cause. I agree that enlightened people like you will see it in a positive way, but most people are likely to panic if confronted with something that flies in the face of what they've always believed. That in turn, could lead to a questioning of history, of government, potentially everything 'establishment'.
I freely admit that I don't know what is in Antarctica, but I've been following the subject closely for a few years and I believe something very significant has been found.
I certainly believe that governments and the scientists who work for them routinely keep things from us.

I guess anything is possible.
The religious issue is most likely at the root of the stifling of information coming out as there would be much to lose for many power players.
I just find it fascinating how clearly there were various types of pre-human species walking around unknown to each other who somehow looked very similar to one another. What are the chances of that in a world or universe of endless possibilities. Does it then explain how some of us are of different races? Why are we of different skin colours? Why do Asians and some South Americans have smaller eyes than others?

I believe we were created by something.
I don't believe in the evolution theory we are fed,
And nasa do nothing but lie why would anyone believe a blagger!
But I am open to theories.

Rian, I don't see why they'd hide the human history from us personally. There are things being discovered out there, that are far more brutal on our understanding of things. For example, the laws of physics dictate that a planet should follow it's host stars rotation, but they recently discovered one which orbits the "wrong way" and goes against it's host star rotation.
The same applies for "Hot Jupiter" type planets. Gas giants that were formed way too close to the star - this shouldn't happen, but they've found many examples of it.
I don't see why an earlier advanced civilisation would cause issue's apart from in a religious aspect. If anything, it could help us understand our own path.

Kev I think it's a very real possibility that advanced civilisations lived on earth long before historians have suggested. I think when we begin to find out what is really going on in Antarctica we may get closer to the truth. I suspect that the so called powers that be do not want us to know as it may lead us to question everything we have been told about life on this planet and perhaps beyond.
