Cheers edd I don't know enough of this subject to make a conclusive opinion, I will check out those movies and maybe in the future come back with my take.
the hells angels involvement in music is strange, I remember one of beatles (think it was george )said while the beatles were over in the states that lharrison hung out with them and said if you ever come to uk to visit them, well they must have thought hairy bikers are not going to fly across the world, well they did and stayed in the abbey road studios for a few weeks until george had to say they had to go.
i find it strange how they have the money to fly over here and bring there bikes, drifting off the subject but I find that very peculiar.
will also check out the music and maybe see them live if they appeal to me but you do realize even if I go to a gig I still have the 500 yard restraining order against you so I hope they tour in a big venue.

Are you the lawyer in fear and loathing, Ed002? ;) With a back-story like yours you should get into after dinner speaking, I know I'd be interested in some of your tales! With the company you have kept mind I'd be surprised if you can remember half of them.
That incident at Altamont was stomach churning. I always wondered if there was a higher power instructing the hell's angels to act the way they did, though I wouldn't imagine it would take much encouragement.

Franky, was it you that mentioned Laurel Canyon below?
Having done some reading over the weekend into the canyon I can see why there are theories surrounding the movement that occurred there, particularly from 1965 til the early 1970's. The parental links of many of the scene's forerunners to the military/industrial complex and the number of mysterious deaths are difficult to rationalise at face value. Jim Morrison's dad, for instance, was apparently the guy in charge of the fleet of ships that were bombed (or not as it turned out) during the Gulf of Tonkin incident. Many of the leading artists had very similar backgrounds and some had even met in their earlier lives, in military schools etc. Lots of very interesting links!
This website has a number of articles on the subject http://www.davesweb. cnchost.com/
I also found some related videos on this web page http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread861138/pg1
Not sure what to make of it all yet and plenty more reading to be done at my end but it is a subject I find interesting so will plough on with it.

{Ed002's Note - The one thing I missed from the above was the Hell's Angels who were sort of in the "employ" of the Rolling Stones at Altamont and were responsible for the 60s ending. My old mentor, Gonzo got involved with them way before my time and wrote some truths and untruths about them. There is actually a move of the same name about him that you may want to check out. }

Which brings me to my original post, do you think which the musicians who were against many of the reasons you stated, do you think it is possible for hired hands/activists to cause trouble at many of the festivals, hence stopping the cause in its tracks?
Read discussionGreat taste in music Ed I think I'm guna need a session looking back through some if theses old tunes.

Will read more about Altamont, cheers edd.
Read discussionThat is interesting Ed, I don't go for all this celebrity worshipping but Nico is one character I would have liked to have met if I were around. Troubled, I'm sure! Chelsea Girls is one of my favoured albums of the era.

Well thanks franky for bringing up this subject and thanks ed002 for sharing your experiences, I find it all fascinating having always been a fan of the music of the time. Neil young, the doors, love, Hendrix, nico and the velvet underground etc. Though I had never heard of the conspiracy theory surrounding LC and whether or not there is any truth to it, it will keep me busy reading for the rest of today!

What about Charles Manson and the Beach Boys? Any connection there to this theory?

Ed02 I will try to be more specific and I know it was the 70s you were there rather than the 60s but could you expand more on the "questionable connections"
Do you think these "connections" had a influence (negative or positive) on how the hippy scene developed.

Ed what is your view of the whole sixties thing since you had experience of being in laurel canyon. Bet you have a few good stories from being there.
Read discussionCheck out the story of laurel canyon hippy scene. Some very famous musicians with questionable connections. Possible that the whole hippy scene was controlled from the beginning. I have always thought the early 90s rave scene was similarly set up not only because the dove is an illuminati symbol but the pioneers of this movement were also well connected individuals.

Love looking back at Hendrix et al. Watched a documentary on the era recently and it sure did seem to tail off rather quickly by the end of the 60's considering the epiphany that 1967 was meant to be. By the time he played the star spangled banner that time, it seems the end of those times was already already looming.

Franky intelligence services have always used agent provocateurs to infiltrate crowds. Its a good giggle, usually training missions and the like, at least back home anyway. But now its all plant a couple of people and see what happens. Obviously the Americans always push things too far.
Ah 60's music, learning to speak English to the Beatles. My favourite was George Harrison.

Ah Franky I wasn't dismissing the idea at all, in fact it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if it did happen. let's be honest, we are about the only sustainable food source left now aren't we?
Read discussionI wouldn't be suprised at all by this human flesh in our food what wiyh all the people that go missing. Any way I am having leg of man sorry I mean leg of lamb on sunday oop's.
Read discussionI find it amusing that some people find it over the top, in dire times humans have resorted to cannibalism and will do in the future, also human meat has been sold for profit in all countries one time or another, now do you think the people who rule this planet really care what's getting sold to joe public?
the same people who want us in war after war, the same people who poison us with gmo food/chem trails etc etc
yes guys the same people we talk about every day, it is inconceivable that a big food corporation use human meat for a profit?
