Does anyone really want to see Iran develop nuclear weapons? It escalates tensions in a region that's already massively unstable. At the moment Russia and the west are caught up in a proxy war between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Speaking of which its Britain that's arming the Saudis for their atrocities in Yemen.
Regards the Falklands the islanders themselves voted overwhelmingly to be British. The UN has to recognise the principle of self determination. Also when Britain annexed the islands, Argentina didn't even exist it was still a Spanish colony.
Lastly it was the French supplying the Argentinians. Thatcher threatened the French with invoking the Nato article on 1 member being attacked means the whole alliance pitching in. She also got her good friend Ronald Regan to lean on the French as well. This did cause some consternation at the embassy.

What he said was repugnant. But digging up from 11 years ago is a sign of desperation. Meanwhile the whole Hilary email scandal continues with barely a peep from the media.

In order to defend freedom of speech then all opinions have to be allowed. The line has to be drawn somewhere. But unpleasant views should be aired. This is the point of debate. If an ideology cannot withstand criticism then its not that great an ideology is it?

After the sanctions for the whole Crimean/ eastern Ukraine business can't be many sanctions to use. Plus winter is coming and Europe needs gas.

Well between both conferences its been an experience. I don't think British politics has been this extreme in decades. And that's on both right and left. Lots of extreme language at both.

Well I don't have 40 million. And I'm not sure anyway going into a bunker is really going to worry about their Swiss or Caribbean accounts.

O dear we didn't think of that. If only we'd built bunkers with air filters, water purification systems and hermetically sealed doors. Outsmarted by the West again.

To be honest parts of Birmingham already look like they've been hit. Some very run down areas. Even the touristy parts look worse than say Liverpool, Manchester or Newcastle.
I forget who's idea it actually was but back in Stalin's day when the Moscow metro was being extended someone had the idea of digging deeper for duel use as bomb shelters.

Beat me to it. I meant to mention it. Part of the Stalinist legacy. The underground system was designed to double as bomb shelters.
Interesting timing.

Hopefully never. Certainly not this year. And first half of 2017 would be unlikely. Due to new presidency and the need to keep escalating tension. Later 2017 to early 2018 maybe. Depends how Syria pans out.

As an aside the Kremlin is gearing up for it. Hence the air force in Syria and army in Ukraine. Combat training exercises in proper combat conditions.
