I was a Public Enemy fan when I was younger complete with black bomber jacket with patchwork and furry hood (yes a little bit of a sheep) . They had a huge following and we're very political instead of guns, bitches and drug dealing. Then along came NWA and Ice T and changed the hip hop/ rap scene towards what it is today. Another good one was KRS One/ Boogie Down Productions.
Professor Griff was portrayed as very pro black and militant as he supported the black panthers and wore combat gear. They just disappeared with flavour flav developing a drug habit and terminator x didn't really do anything.

Chuck D who was probably the main man still remains a voice of reason and intelligent but it seems odd and always has done how they just disappeared off the scene and almost had an orchestrated downfall. They bad a massive influence on me when I was younger though just because what their tracks were about. Another group from the UK who had a big following was Soul II Soul in the 80's. They had a good message but it just ended after some big albums and tracks. They were the biggest act around London in the late 80's early 90's pre house music even with their own shops in London. Then you end up with acts like So solid crew etc.

It's definitely moving towards an American model where we turn into states, people will argue that's the only way to compete in the global market. I disagree the more competition the better for consumers.

Edd, truth be told I think they have almost succeeded, but I don't just think this is a Britain thing, i think this is more of a destroy western civilisations type of thing, through low morals, esteem, violence, and to me, it seems to be accelerated in English speaking/ Anglo saxon countries?

Ill be honest and say I can't watch merkel on tv. never mind obama, what that woman and her cronies have done to europe is mind boggling,
