Franky we know religion is all tosh but its interesting to see just how much has been lied with regards this one. Just wondered what people thought or if they'd heard this one before.

There is very little lies said about Barabbas in comparison to the rest of the New Testament and Bible in general. While there is very little historical evidence for Barabbas (and Jesus I might add) people vary on the reasons for his appearance and some name him also as Jesus. This brings us into the realm of the 'Son of the Father' which is inherent in the name Barabbas itself. Historically there is little evidence of such an amnesty ever being in place in Judea at the time to release criminals during Passover. If there was? then chances are we would have heard about it in the writings of Josephus. One need only look through the 4 Gospels to see how much they differ on the events they proclaim to narrate. People who say the Bible is the word of God don't like hearing about the discrepancies throughout the work itself. The best quote I've come across in my studies was by a 3rd century Philosopher who wrote 'Against the Christians', Porphyry. Commenting on Paul's stories about Jesus he says it is the "story that never happened. Written by the man who wasn't there". Sound advice when thinking about what the Bible is supposed to represent.

franky I think it does matter which one died since a religion got built up around the survivor. A religion which has persecuted countless millions, held back the human race, fleeced billions, and millions have died in wars over it. So dark the con of man.
