Discussion #10600Talk Sense

18 Mar 2014 18:33:02
On a football theme, nothing seems to have changed on the amount of premier league players sent off in champions league games against the other influential sides.
Messi's chemically riddled body and HGH use ( I actually think he is showing signs of deteriorating lately.
The doctors and the 300 or so blood bags, have they been destroyed? Will we ever find out who they belong too?
Laporta's payment to the fifa officials daughters bank account.
Can't really talk about my beloved Manchester United at the moment so going on to other subjects.

Hi Supasub - I too think it's a farce that Messi was allowed to get away with taking HGH.

In what sport is that allowed?

If you were an Olympic competitor and were found taking that, you'd be banned instantly!

And done even get me started on those blood samples! Apparently they would have incriminated a lot of Spanish sportsmen and clubs.

What have you heard?

Nothing yet, it's all gone quiet. Last summer a Spanish judge strangely ordered the blood bags be destroyed but I believe that decision was trying to be overturned by somebody/group but not heard anything since. Fuentes has been quoted as saying to some people that "if the world knew the truth then Spain would be stripped of their world title".
I imagine that those blood bags belong to Barca, Real Madrid, Valencia (as one of the doctors had links to Valencia also) players and Rafael Nadal (strangely injured for a long period at the same time the lance armstrong thing came to light) to name a few.
On another note the club doctor at Brescia when guardiola tested positive for nandrolone as a player (which guardiola got off due to some strange technicality as always seems to happen in Italian football) was one of the doctors at Barca when Guardiola was coach. I wonder if the same doctor/medical team has followed him to bayern Munich?

And with regards to Messi, he's should have been banned for a long time if not permanently. Barca stripped of their titles. Anyone who harps on about his growth issues is wrong. It wouldn't be right for players like Giovinco, Daelhi or even Zola to take HGH so shouldn't be allowed for anyone else. I've always thought Puyol looked suspect, pique and Fabregas have started looking a bit more pumped, Sanchez looks more beefed up just to name a few.

There was a small article the other day about Barca's concern for Messi as for the past year or two Messi has been vomiting during a number of games. Maybe something is catching up on him.
Abidal's liver illness and eventual all clear a couple of years ago was strange. If memory serves me right liver disease/cancer can be a side effect of substance/anabolics abuse. Those who've been on these pages a whole know I bring up these same unanswered footballing questions now and again.

Supasub do you think or believe that any of what you mentioned and I have opened my eyes to what you post goes on in our beloved premier league or even in the lower league's. I really think you might have something here so interesting thanks.

I love the way someone disagrees to all of it with no explanation. Probably Sepp Blatter!

Don't get me started on Barcelona and Messi! The whole situation makes my blood boil, even more so with all the ar$elicking football fans and the media show towards them.

I do suspect it does go on in the epl but in hoping at at least a lesser extent. In Britain I think we have blood and urine testing whereas Spain for instance have only urine tests. You've long been able to get prosthetic penis's filled with someone else's urine as mike Tyson once confessed as pointed out by some people on this page. In the epl I think cocaine is probably more of an issue and the fact it's not apparently performance enhancing but goes our your system in about 24 hrs makes it tricky to pick up.
Even if you had blood tests in say Spain or any where else I imagine the technique used by these doctors with blood transfusions would affect the results anyway if your blood is getting flushed with blood you've given previously.

Supasub
{Ed001's Note - just to point out, you seem to have forgotten why Stam was sold, and don't even go near the nonsense put out in either book. He had failed a test and it was either sell him and pretend it was all the player's fault and so United avoid censure. Or they could admit guilt and take the punishment but get to keep the player. Then there is Rio, who was turned away at the gates when the drug testers came around because the club knew that a second positive test would be held against the club. So it defo goes on in the Prem, as I am quite sure that United are not alone in their actions, though I wouldn't know who else is involved as the rest have been able to keep it quiet. Other than a certain manager I particularly dislike, who has always aroused suspicions for the way his players develop physically when under his charge, Fat Scam, it is very difficult to be sure. Though I would suggest Arsenal's constant injury problems are likely to be as much about them not using illicit methods as anything else.}

No ed I haven't forgotten about the whole stam thing. I think that's one of the reasons he ended up in Italy as it seems to go under the radar over there and not bring united into the picture too much about it. I was even suspicious about Ronaldo when he suddenly beefed up as a youngster and I expect adnan will be filling out soon if not already. United have not long opened a new state of the art medical centre which just makes me more suspicious. It was partly modelled on the ac Milan one which can also help prolonging players careers but I remember how Maldini was also beginning to resemble Arnie in his late thirties.
The whole movement of Barca people to manchester city makes me now suspicious of them also with their growing Spanish contingent. I think there was also big question marks over Rosicky's an aggers long absences to name a couple. I just think it would be a great shame if my beliefs are as I suspect. Arsenal were one of the first clubs to experiment with creative in the epl but I believe it's now banned here but not abroad. Do you know ed?

Supasub
{Ed001's Note - Rosicky and Wilshere were absent for other reasons, of a similar nature but not this particular issue. Agger has a different issue, which may have required Rio-type treatment since, to keep him fit, as he has a longstanding back problem. At the time though, none of those were out because of this particular area of discussion, shall we say.}

And I did mention above ed that I didn't want to talk about my beloved united ;)

Supasub
{Ed001's Note - oh sorry mate, I was just thinking they were the most obvious example of its use within the Prem.}

Ok ed, went of on a tangent a bit but I suspected what rosickys, and you mention Wilshere and put I though Agger was in the same bracket but I'll take your word for it. I take it you meant fat Sam in you post or am I being a bit dense?

Supasub
{Ed001's Note - no Agger was the same reason that Rio ended up having the treatments we are referring to, though I don't know for sure if he ended up using them too. It is certainly in the 'highly possible' category though. Rosicky and Wilshere are among a significant number of pros in the English game whose reasons for missing large chunks of time is covered up, though not because of HGH. It is more about protecting the image of the game than anything else, in their cases.
Yes I was referring to him, he is certainly one that was pointed out to me as the one to watch if the stuff ever does hit the fan.}

I was also referring to wide use of cocaine and recreational drugs in my reply to Sidney the cat. I'm hopeful that the epl is the best out of a bad bunch though. What's your thoughts ed.? Should it all just be above board and legal?

Supasub
{Ed001's Note - there is a very widespread usage of that, but that is more of a problem in society in general, so there is little that football itself can do. Though I do wish they would at least be open about those that are caught out, rather than trying to hide it away and pretend all is well. No way should any of it be legal, there is too many people who are willing to risk the players' lives in return for short term performance gain. If everyone was openly using it, then the only way for those to gain an advantage is to use more. That leads to more and more danger for those on the receiving end of the drugs.}

My thoughts exactly ed. I've had my own issues for a long period of time that I am gratefully past today (not a sporting one but I had far more money than sense for a period in my life) and have been for a few years concerning some of the things in the thread. What I don't like is the way none of the footballing/sports bodies appear to want to lift up any stones some of them obvious. Organisations like the FA, uefa and fifa don't want to affect any sponsorship/ tv deals and clubs likewise.

Supasub
{Ed001's Note - it is all about the money unfortunately.}

Boys and their football.

Do you think brown envelopes have swayed the last few world cup votes?

Ed if your familiar with the whole Sandro Rossell payment to fifa official shortly after last Barca v united CL final. What do you think it may have been for? I saw one story which thought it was for gaining refereeing decision in Barca's favour in matches through sendings off, repeated fouls by the other side non penalties against etc. But doesn't Rossell now or at the time hold some sort of position in Nike?

Supasub
{Ed001's Note - I have no idea mate, Barca's finances are kept deliberately obscure.}

Sorry if that seemed naive this is new area for me. Would you say this happens a lot or is a more recent phenomenon?

Kim Philby
{Ed001's Note - it has been going on for as long as sports have been around. Both Shankly and Busby used to put stuff in the tea, but it wasn't banned then. There were instances back in the 1920s too.}

Had to use google but thanks ed. British fair play eh.

Kim Philby
{Ed001's Note - well back in the old days, it was perfectly legal and commonplace, so it was not cheating to do so. As such, it was within the boundaries of fair play to use supplements of any kind. Most of the banned sporting supplements are perfectly commonplace over the counter things that ordinary people use every day. That is why it is so difficult to police.}

I thought cycling was rife with all the above you guys mentioned drugs and blood transfusions but was quite naive when it came to football, especially the use of cocaine and hgh. I once thought it would be easier to let all the cyclist's take performance drugs and then see who was the machine only because they were all at it anyway.
