What's people thoughts on minecraft? My 2 children are now fairly obsessed with it, playing it and watching videos of it with "stampylonghead" and "iballisticsquid". They are encouraged to be interested in it at school also by their teachers. It seems fairly educational regarding building and environments but I've not had long enough to have a look at it.
For anyone who knows what I'm talking about I would be interested in other peoples/Ed's thoughts regarding it.

I attempted to play it once got no where it's quite complex, I'd say it's addictive obviously because millions of kids are playing it & it's no where near to the quality of next gen games or even PS3 or Xbox games. I'd say aslong as your kids are not playing it every free minute they have it's ok it is a very difficult game where pretty much anything is possible there is conspiracy linked themes to it like the slender man & Bigfoot in the game why I'm not sure I don't even know how it works but it will definately be getting there minds working whether it's in the right ways I'm unsure.
Just goes to show that coming up with one of these simple games like Flappy Bird or angry birds can make people very rich without the resources of Sony, Microsoft & all these big game producers these simple apps are competing wish I could come up with one myself lol.

My daughter loves it she sits on youtube for hours watching video mad by these men. they are brainwashing her, everything we say or do is now compared to minecraft.

My 7 year old boy loves it, and he too watches people playing it on YouTube, personally I think it's rotten, and a bit pointless

Simply put Minecraft is online Lego.
You can build whatever you like, houses, cars, boats, etc.
There are some survival elements were you ave to kill zombies, skeletons, etc. but they're only there to add replay elements to the game.

It's the most fun I've ever had on a game. and this is probably the last thing that I would consider to be a conspiracy or brainwashing.
It doesn't ask you to do anything, or believe anything. you literally make tools, mine and then build out of the things you've mined.
It's lego meets castaway.
