Dunno if this is a conspiracy as such but more of a question.
Do any of the eds or people on here believe the government and certain private companies are trying to intentionally stir up trouble between religions and none religious people?
{Ed033's Note - Yes, it's called 'divide and conquer' and has been used for a long time now.
Not so sure mate, I think it's more to do with more and more people recognising that all holy books take their tales from different/older holy books. Also, that belief in a god is a faith based belief, rather than a reasonable or logic based belief.

Since time begun there have been a conscious effort to fight for this and that and now days its more corporation influence imf as a example, as a species we are on the whole to be suspicious of each other and I use that word PROGRAMMING, we are being feed information daily about that country is bad and dangerous or that faith is full of radicals and in to the mix of greed of certain people who will go to war purely for power and monetary reasons (tony blair) it is absolutely "divide and conquer "

It's not really a fair argument though with religion. They have zero evidence of any god, of which there have been more than 3000 worshipped.
Everything a religious person believes is based on faith. Faith meaning that you'll believe something without any evidence whatsoever. So how can you have an open and fair debate with someone, who refuses to recognise that their religion, no matter which it is, has been "borrowed" from an older civilisation? The reality of that really gets to people of a religious persuasion. Also, if you read any of the holy books, you'll see just how horrible a being this god character seems to be.
Had more to say on the subject, but don't want to offend anyone.
Science, reason and logic will prevail, and we as a civilisation will be far better off!

By keeping an open mind and really delving into mathematical areas such as volume geometry, transcendental numbers and infinity-fractals, and physics areas such as swarzschield black holes, electron-photon dualities and plasma behavior, one can logically deduce that there is a creator.
As for the OPs original question, the priesthood was designed to prevent certain knowledge from reaching the masses. Unsurprisingly, it is still used to subjugate, divide and keep humanity ignorant.

Remember what the church done to poor Galileo?
If they had a chance, they'd still be censoring knowledge, to help hide the cracks in their stupid, infantile beliefs!

It must be good to be right all the time Jay.
Talk about hypocrisy-you have the cheek to put peace after every vile posting, directing insulting remarks about other peoples beliefs.
Intolerance causes war not peace!
