First time poster but not new to the site. Wanted to know views on another attack in France. This is another in a long list of attacks but is this because their security is so lax or is France involved in something else that is being kept quiet. Why target France in particular?

French intelligence services are poor. There's lots of racial/ religious tension in France that doesn't get reported. And the French role in Syria acts as a contributing factor.

Kim, why are they so poor? is it a deliberate stance in which they and other 'shadowy' figures concur to allow incidents of this type to happen enuring tensions elevate?

God bless anyone who has been killed or affected by these attacks.

A lot of it is down to poor funding/ training/ technogy. They've been understaffed for years. They have a larger population with a larger ethnic subgroup a lot of whom have been radicalised. People complain about suspects slipping through the net but don't realise the resources needed to follow just one person around 24/ 7. Its beyond the resource capabilities of practically every agency on the planet. Even the KGB at its peak would have struggled. Although they'd have solved it by rounding up and executing all suspects.
It simply isn't practical to devote huge resources to constant surveillance and technology can't do everything. Then the human rights laws get used and the politically correct back off.
Then you get something like this and everyone automatically cries conspiracy and assumes an agency is behind it. Whilst at a very high level there may well be, at the smaller level often there isn't. Even where you know a certain person has certain sympathies you can't predict what they will do and when.

France seems to be close to the tipping point that's required to implement some sort of martial law.
