found this extremely interesting, wanted to see what you guys make of it.
We are the Gods Now - Jason Silva
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cF2VrefjIjk
You create a tool, in this case technology, and then you identify with it?
A creator is not a slave to his creations, that is unless he is aware that what was created should not have been.
Considering ones self as god, is akin to putting ones self on a pedestal, so better be prepared for the fall that will ensue.
On the other hand, to always see ones self as a fool means one can only only learn and advance.
Language is what allows one to share their thoughts and feelings with others. Richness of vocabulary is what allows one to express ones self accurately. Technology is only involved in the transference of those words.
The presentation itself is enough to induce cognitive overload. Over reliance on trigger words, series of flashing images and emotional speech and music. Continuously referring to "authority figures" while taking their conclusions out of context.
Employing cognitive overload to emulate wisdom in an attempt to extract submission, passive agreement.
Whether intentional or unintentional, it is still deplorable.
From a psychological point of view the speaker appears to be insecure about his mortality. With an inability to accept life as just a ride and not a finiteness, he strives to immortalize something ephemeral. This is expressed in the neurotic behavior he exhibits and advocates for.
Analyzing everything through a subjective, egocentric perspective rather than an objective spacetimeless one.
A good rhetor but with fallible logic.
Watch this without video and you'll take a totally different experience from it.
Technology, for me, is the means to abundance.
Spirit is the means to understanding and experiencing the source when far removed from it.
We are the spirit not the flesh.

The feller suggests that it will be fantastic that in the future technology will be inside us all and upgrading itself like a computer, sounds like a bloody nightmare, it also reminds me of a episode of dr who were everyone had earpieces and information was downloaded to the people who were like zombies taking orders, so I do not buy what he is saying at all.

Frankie, yep and in that one they ended up getting hypnotised by the ear things and walked into a factory to become Cybermen.
Also sounds like the Borg from Star Trek.

Ah yeah mate the Borg, interesting presentation but the guy is looking at a scenario that would make us basically metal zombies.

Well it may suggest that we are in fact a microchip in a living frame. From the alien ship G. O. D. But hey it's just a thought.

Computers are built in our image. Input, processing, output.
Our obsession with our creations prevents us from understanding ourselves and all other, direct or indirect, creations of the creator. Which by the way, are far more beautiful and masterfully built.
We already have enough technology to express and transmit all that we understand. What are better microchips going to accomplish when we still have senses which we are unaware of?
You need 19 digits of pi to calculate the perimeter of the visible universe with an accuracy of the width of a hydrogen atom. We can already calculate pi to a trillion digits. What is the point of being able to calculate even more digits of pi if you do not know what it does or never use it? Seen any dome houses lately?
We need to be advancing ourselves so that all this technology is put to proper use before we loose all perspective.
We are still deifying a DOG, enough said.
