With the BBC and others reporting withdrawal restrictions for customers of HSBC, do we think that we are heading for another global financial meltdown soon?

I wonder how people interpret the term "financial meltdown". Did our resource deposits run out? Are we using more resources than those available? Do we lack something we cannot create?
We have the know how to revolutionize production and consumption processes so that they are perpetually sustainable. We choose not to do so. It is concepts such as money that box our minds and keep us oblivious to the real problems of society and their solutions.
If people require further humiliation before beginning to contemplate the predicament we are in, then so be it.

Whilst I agree, we cannot escape the fact that what we term as money is simply debt created out of thin air to facilitate a profit to be earned by a corporation.
Once this was stopped being backed by gold, it became obvious that this level of debt would soon become unsustainable.
It's clear, from the article, that the financial institutions have engineered a debt from nothing that is 10 times more that the planet's combined GDP. This is to the detriment of the people on this planet who are tasked with trying to reduce this and to the empowerment of the minority who reap the rewards of such actions. It matters not to this minority how we think of this debt as a society, or how we can revolutionize this situation globally. Until the balance of power changes, until people wake up, the reality of this has to be faced.
