first of all i don't believe that world will end in 2012. And i'm little ignorant inn some of these facts, so if any one can clear it up , will appreciate.
As far as i think, in 2012 5th mayan long count will end. So has anything big happened in the end of 4th long count, around 5000 years ago to give the belief that same will happen again.
And as far as i beleive, does written ancient history only dates back to 5000 years.
And again as far as i think, there is the belief the carbon 14 has been depositing in our atmosphere only since 5000 years ago?
So are these true and connected or there is nothing in it?

Nothing in any of it mate, the planet will remain as it is until weeither nuke each other or the sun blows up..........in about 50 million years

The long count is 23,000 to 27,000 years so your figure of 5,000 years is incorrect anyway
