i notice on the picbar at the top of the page mars is on there. Whats peoples views on mars? Was it disproved? Is it real? Fake? Trick of the light?

Do people think its habitable?

Course it's habitable haven't you seen DOOM?

Sorry Azza couldn't resist.

I don't think there's argument that Mars is fake at all.

Whether or not it is a solid 'land mass' is another question.

Apparently there is water on the moon and the canyons open and close which is impossible seeing that their the same size as the grand canyon plus the face on which has teeth and pupils so its not a trick of the light and also 3 pyramids which match up to the egyptian pyramids in size and positioning so if it is uninhabited now it was not always like that

It may have been habitable once, i did read a book that suggested that it was before a massive catacylsm stripped the atmosphere away.

I take it then that you think the so called face and pyramids is just a trick of the light then?

Mars was once like Earth and one day Earth will be like Mars. Mars became barren as a result of radiation from the sun and solar flares pelting the surface for thousands of years, the reason the radiation was let through was due to Mars' weak magnetic field which is now close to non-existent.

The 'face' found on Mars is nothing more than a small cluster of hills photographed when the sun was shining on them at a funny angle. It is human nature to identify faces or shapes in everyday ordinary objects or, in this case, land formations. Not some sort of monument built by ancient creatures.

Martin, if Mars was inhabited once, why couldn't there be structures on it?

I actually said that Mars was once like Earth in that it could sustain life up to a certain level - not anything capable of building monuments. Mars was never inhabited as such; it definitely harboured organisms and it's possible it may have bore some primitive creatures capable of thought and some basic animalistic instincts, but it's life as a prospering utopia was far to short for any intelligent beings to come along and take a stranglehold on it's environment as humans have done. It took humans billions of years to evolve from the sea-dwelling creatures of pre-historic times to the sophisticated bipedal creatures of today - it is likely Mars would have only had a few hundred million years, if that. The fact that there was far less oxygen in the atmosphere and water clearly wasn't plentiful would have limited the size of any creatures that may have once lived there.

We should find out within the next 20 years or so whether there are any fossils on Mars and, if so, how big they are and if they were capable of anything notable. I assure you, though, there are no unnatural structures on Mars at the moment, as much as I would love for something to be/have been up there.

Yeah to be fair I am with you on that Martin.
