Im led to believe that last years farce when Wayne Rooney wanted to leave Manchester United because of a "lack of ambition" was a well orchestrated plan to get the Glazers family to put their hands in their pockets.Ive been told that Sir Alex Ferguson chose Rooney for the plan knowing he was the only member of the squad that would cause maximum exposure and ultimately be thought of highly enough to be forgiven by the fans.
Lets face it how many other players past and present would have lasted the season after such an outburst,good players like Beckham,Stam,Keane,Ince and Van nistelrooy have all been shown the door for relatively minor incidents compared to the brilliantly well orchestrated media drama that was Rooneys rant?
