anyone think that nuclear weapons have existed before? There's some funny stuff in both the bible and the vedas. As the blast fuses the soil together and turns it to glass which eventually disintegrates into sand does this account for the sahara, arabian and indian deserts?

No

{Ed033's Note - Yes, the ancient indian texts talk about the Vimanas that shoot arrows that create a mushroom cloud. We also have fused rocks and stones that probably were fused together because of an ancient nuclear blast.}

I am sure i have watched a programe were they found a test tube buried somewere in ice and judging by the age of the ice it was a few thousand years ago,

I remember having a convo with ed001 about technology regressing in comparison..ancient Indian texts(better known as Hindu texts..a term recently brought into use to form a new religion) have a lot of stories which speak about advanced technology in weapons, communication and also medicine..

i have read descriptions of aftereffects of war which are similar to nuclear attacks and the effect it would have on man and our surroundings.. I also remember in the mahabharata there was talk of a weapon which once invoked could not be taken back..and it would destroy everything in a large area..and no life could be sustained for generations to come..the main portagonists in the epic always thought twice before either teaching it to their students or invoking it during the course of war..

brilliant read if you skip past the recent translations which attribute the lessons of the epics more towards to "religion" than life as it is..considering that the Gita the books starts with saying this an explanation on the way of life and not a hard and fast rule to be followed.. it never was claimed to be the book of hinduism..it just recent attribution that has turned the Gita into a holy book..

Regarding "Ed033"'s mentioning of fused rocks (and mushroom clouds to a certain extent), any decent-sized meteorite that struck Earth would release considerably more energy than any nuclear explosion recorded to date.

It is this energy that causes rocks to be "fused" together, regardless of whether it is provided by high-energy fission reactions or meteor impact. The difference between the two possibilities is that there is evidence for meteor impacts on Earth and throughout the Solar System. There is not one shred of evidence for a nuclear explosion pre-20th century on Earth or indeed any other celestial body.

Ed033, mine is an opinion supported by almost insurmountable evidence. Every single metamorphosed rock on the planet can be accounted for by natural processes such as heat and pressure. There is no need for high-energy radiation or stray nuclei to explain anything. Evidence is not opinion-based.

{Ed033's Note - The idea is that if you come onto this web site, you come on with an open mind and the willingness to look at new information and and possibly learn new things because nobody knows everything. There is plenty of evidence of possible nuclear technology being used in the past on this planet but you have to have an open mind to read or take a look at the information in the first place.}

"There is not one shred of evidence for a nuclear explosion pre-20th century"

There is a site near India, I believe it is in Pakistan but I may be wrong, where a city that is now just remnants that have been dug showed a lot higher radiation than normal levels. It is speculated that this was a site where an explosion may have taken place in the past as mentioned in Hindi texts. The site is still being excavated ...
