a load of stuff about ed snowdon being awarded various awards for being a whistle blower but I have a nagging doubt that he is a plant, snowdon only released documents that were not classified they were actually released without the media publishing it, he just highlighted what never got airtime, Bradley manning on the other hand is paying the price as is Julian Asange for the wiki leaks whistle blowing, so to me you have three men and two are locked away and one who is getting the plaudits and seems to be having the easier option.

Ah Franky, Manning and Assange were crusaders doing what they did from their own moral viewpoint, whether you agree or disagree. Assange is a vile man with vile views but bad men doing good things is a different topic. Manning, well the man was a liability due to his proclivities, easy to blackmail and being in uniform makes it worse to theme authorities.

Snowden I strongly suspect is a kgb asset. The way he got out the country, the fact he went to south America, stayed in a kgb safe house, the route he went to Moscow, disappearing for weeks for debriefing, his public appearances with obvious kgb minders, the fact of what was released, this was just to panic the americantski as they knew what he had. Kgb wouldn't release the juicy bits as its leverage. They had to allow the Americans to remove the legal spies without fuss whilst Moscow went after the illegals. The rules of the game have to followed. Moscow loved getting their hands on sensitive information but you have to play it correctly or risk reprisals. Kgb needed this success after the Anna Chapman business. The won't release any sensitive data to the public as its too useful for many reasons. What they have released was chicken feed for the public to embarrass langley.

Kim I have always found it strange how snowdon got all over the world without getting picked up, I thought he was either a C. I. A diss info agent or was getting help like you said with the K. G. B.

Manning was the fall guy in all this now he is paying for it inside, Assange a vile man?as in his private life with the sex scandals?

Indeed I have no time for sex criminals, the lowest of the low.

Manning is an idealist, easy to use as a tool if you hit the right buttons.

Yes snowden got around far too easily. I rule out cia, too much noise, Moscow centre needed a high profile success after recent failures to show their back in the game.

The 90's were a disaster, budget cuts, defections, the old guard leaving, the rest no morale, the new generation no pride. Then the Chapman farce, although i'd love to debrief her, was a mess. Heads rolled for that one. Something Snowden was a big success. Made the Americans think. Now with increased budget things could get interesting. Wonder who has my old job.

Do you think Assange is a sex criminal?

Ryan.
{Ed033's Note - it's most likely imo, that was made up about Assange .

I think the sex allegations are flimsy to say the least and just a ploy to get him extradited to the US. Also since (alleged) sex crimes are such an emotive issue, it is a clever way to change public perception of him from heroic to deviant. It's nothing more than cheap tin pot psychology, but sadly most people will buy the story based on the headline, regardless of facts.

I personally think he is a very courageous man.

My instincts also told me the sex charges were a complete fabrication, and an attempt at character assassination. I could be wrong but that was my initial reaction when I heard it.

Everybody has skeletons in the closet. There is more to Assange than has been revealed.

I will just say that the guy has some very unorthodox views that in todays society will get you into trouble. I believe the allegations are true but not easily provable.

Good men often do bad things andbad men sometimes do good things.

So its a assertion as you have no reason or won't site a reason to believe it 'for me its a load of toss, even the accuser has changed her story
{Ed001's Note - I have to say, there is nothing in there that counts as any kind of proof. So it has to be a case of innocent until proven guilty. It does seem it is easy to put out a claim like that, as it is well known he would sleep with anything, by the sounds of it. But that is totally different from forcing yourself on someone. Nice and easy to throw dirt like that, as it is so difficult to disprove and plenty of people will just assume the worst because they dislike Assange.}
