when I was a kid loved stuff about the loch ness and some of the sightings and pictures are still the same pictures from years ago (nothing new unlike Bigfoot)i think a few years ago someone brought this topic up and I typed I believed there was something in the loch now I have changed my view sorely for the reasons mentioned above, the kid within me wants to think that it could be in the caves underneath the loch that are hidden or maybe there is supposedly a access a route out of the loch to the Atlantic ocean but I have come to the conclusion that no prehistoric has lived there for thousands of years, I hope I am wrong on this.

Maybe there was one but it died? can't imagine it had a lot of mating options.

{Ed033's Note - If it ever existed in recent times and was a dinosaur, then obviously there must have been a breeding population of them that existed somewhere on planet Earth all these years.

Anyone see the apple satellite image of the Loch Ness monster? It was 50 foot long. not saying it is an animal but the image does resemble a sturgeon.

Franky being a proud Scotsman as u already know lol. I've always believed in Oor Nessie until recently. I just think it's a very sneaky clever way to bring in money as shocking as that is. Loch Ness is one of our main tourist spots & does bring in a lot of money. I want to believe that there is a prehistoric beast in there but I can't see it anymore. Although that Loch acts like no other there's unexplained mysteries yet in the Nature of the water, there's also plenty of Fish in there yet mostly nearer to the rivers that run into it which wouldn't be ideal for a giant monster to feed unseen. Sonar reports sometimes still say that there is something large moving deep underwater though & if it's true & there ever was a sighting you know some rich person would want to catch it & milk it for every penny they could get out of it. As I said though for it to be there would be a billion to one shot as much as I want to believe I can't anymore.

If there was a Nessy surely there would be HARD evidence by now not just vague sightings through the years.
There is a kind of romance to the myth though.
There is a kind of romance to the myth though.
{Ed007's Note - You can apply that to anything though, Herbie. Is there any HARD evidence of aliens, Hitler seeing out his life in Argentina or who killed JFK, has Frankyscouser had a bath this year yet etc etc, all subjects that have been spoken about on here recently (Franky's bathing habits were discussed by all of us Eds in coded text hidden within our answers and nobody noticed).
To say there is no hard evidence to prove there is a Loch Ness Monster there's also no hard evidence to say there isn't. Remember there is also the Lake Tianchi Monster in China, Ogopogo in Canada and the Mokele-mbembe in the Congo River. I've learnt never to dismiss anything just because there is no HARD evidence.
Some people believe that there are aliens walking among us, aliens under the Artic and Antartic so why shouldn't there be some sort of alien life underwater? They might even be the reptilian shape-shifters rulers....}

Ed007 don't forget the leprechauns in Ireland, and WMD's in Iraq. I can assure you both exist without a doubt definitely certainly 100%.

{Ed007's Note - The modern leprechaun image is just that, an image like Coca Cola inventing the red and white Santa. Leprechauns are linked to the Tuatha De Danann in Irish mythology.The clurichauns and the far darrig are often mistakenly took for leprechauns although some believe the clurichauns are drunken leprechauns out celebrating the end of the working day.
Most Irish mythology was recorded and modified by Christian monks but it is good reading if you are into that, my interest in mythology began after watching the original Clash of The Titans film in about 1980/81. You will see where a lot of modern teachings originated (Jesus' parables from the Bible etc) if you read through mythology.

Fair point Ed, I just personally can not see Nessy been a reality but then again a lot of things in this world seems like an illusion.
Aliens. of course there are, thanfully they stopped that uncomfortable probing years ago :-)

Funny enough a few months ago was shocked when I said to her I might get a bath, then I decided no, its not for me!
as for the unknown species underneath the sea like a prehistoric beast then I would be shocked if there was not,
some guy said once "we know more about the surface of mars then we do in our oceans "
also one if not the most famous underwater explorer Jacques Cousteau said “The world is not ready for what I have seen. â€
after exploring some deep lake.
right of to get a shower.

Good to see you know your Irish mythology Ed007. Don't want to get picky with you but we tend to say Fear Dearg. But loving your interest!
Did you know that although Dublin is called Baile atha cliath in Irish, it is actually an anglification of the word Duibhlinn, literally meaning blackpool! I was only having the craic in my previous post btw!

{Ed007's Note - My grandparents left Cloich na Coillte in the beautiful People's Republic of Cork just before my dad was born in 1950/51ish and moved over to Salford in Manchester, they moved up to Glasgow and it's surrounding areas in the mid 60's. I'll admit I had to Google the spelling so you have my apologises mo chara.
I did know that about Dublin's name, I also have friends from Blackrock and the 'dhubh' is in that Gaelic name too if memory serves me right.
I used to visit Ireland regularly but haven't been in a few years now, it is a beautiful part of the world and if I ever win the lottery me and my wife plan on buying a teachin in the Cork countryside with nobody near us for miles!! }

You're making me all teary eyed and sentimental now Ed007. West Cork, Kerry and Clare (esp the Burren) are among the most beautiful places imaginable.
