ukip are simply a diversionary tactic, let's look at ukip the main people like farage and his other cronies ARE TORIES, they and in fact most of the tory party want out of Europe so that's how come ukip came together.

i have family and certain friends who would vote for ukip, they are the ones who believe all that propaganda BS but they do not understand the divide and conquer agenda, for me ukip are like katie hopkins, they are getting airtime for a reason, to stir up s**t and make the other parties seem like a caring alternative, when in reality they are all the same, so ukip are far from stupid.

The one thing I don't understand is that UKIP are more likely to get votes from anti euro tory voters so in terms of the general election would this not work against Cameron as he would be losing votes and maybe even seats which would cost him the election.

Or is there some sort of deal in the pipeline? I think it was Ed Balls in the last election who only retained his seat by a 100 votes and UKIP had taken off the tories a similar number of votes.

I can see the point in setting up a patsy party to try and influence the debate. Its like that film I watched the over but on a bigger scale. But not one that could harm your own electoral chances. I think in the next 12 months there will be some sort of deal between Cameron and Farage to stop UKIP from taking votes from the tories.

Yes they were tories in the early 90's.
Farage left in 1992 because Major signed the Treaty on EU, something Farage was and still is very much against, Speroni left in 1993 that's over 20 years ago Franky, I can't see this been a "diversionary tactic".
All politicians are currupt in so many ways but if UKIP want to get Britain out of of the EU and give us our identity back then call me a fool but I'm all for that.

Oops miswrote that. Meant to put he left to work with Speroni in 93.

They were Tories? so that means that they do not have Tories values now? the only thing that Tories and ukip disagree with is Europe, herbie our identity went when we sold up and privatized everything in the late 70s onward s , let's be clear ukip will not have a sniff at being elected thankfully and even if they did they would still try to sell the nhs and tax us all like there counterparts.

Ukip all the way. have you seen this guy in european parliament, this is the only politician for a long time sticking up for our country and cultures. seems to me that a lot of people aren't trusting anyone on this site, like everything seems not as it should be. I believe there is a hidden system screwing us over but c'mon guys who else do you see taking our country from the evil of europe?

Mr Anonymous, your country stands on the edge of a defining choice for your future. Your already punching above your weight and have been for decades. Can you continue to stand alone? Sooner or later you will be pulled into one of the larger power blocs either the United States of Europe or the United States of America after it subsumes Canada and Mexico.

Europe makes sense from a geographical and even political point of view but the complications make it tricky. America makes sense culturally as you have more in common (language, culture, religion) but again complications make it tricky.

But the question is would you just be an outpost at the edge of a great empire or would you become an integral part? To Brussels I get the feeling your just a barely tolerated cash cow. But what would you be to the Americans?

George Orwell's vision of the future world divided into great power blocs is slowly coming true. With a possible future Russian-Chinese link up being one possibility or even both separate, Europe could work or collapse into the new Soviet empire, and then we have America. But where does Britain stand?

All i'm sayin is why can't uk stand alone, who needs wars, why should we be involved in wars. We don't need europe, and we certainly don't need. to be involved over some ego trip and be part of this world leaders union

I spent 10 minutes writing out why I think what will happen but I deleted it as I think it would not be popular. Certainly would be uncomfortable reading. And who am I but an outsider anyway. This isn't my country after all.

Sometimes an outsider can view a situation with a broader lens that others closer to the subject cannot.

Ok well first some context. I am Russian, I worked for the Soviet state for almost 30 years including 4 postings to London, and 3 to Washington and New York. After needing a new home I decided on Britain. I've been here almost 20 years. I work, pay my taxes, my children have grown up here and my grandchildren born here.

I like this country, I like the people. But I am concerned where things are going. The state is slowly tightening its grip. Police state no, I grew up in one after all. But on its way? Certainly.

Your political system is stilted. What do the parties stand for these days? Raised as a good little socialist I despair of your labour party. Doubling the size of the welfare state is not redistribution of wealth, its economic suicide. Your liberal party stands for what exactly. And the other mob, well where to begin. Economic responsibility must be balanced with social compassion. Hard choices must be made but for the benefit of all not just a few.

I think that at some point you need to make a decision on where this country goes. Europe will try and draw you in sooner or later, they can't lose the billions you put in each year and the Germans are beginning to lose patience. But they know the majority of people want nothing to do with Europe. So there will be a lot of scaremongering over jobs. Points will be made about your international standing and how being the Americans poodle has damaged you. How Europe is your only friend.

The contradiction is, funding Europe like you do is damaging the economy. This is the eurosceptics argument. Money saved could go on the health service. But with a growing elderly population and the need to constantly import workers to do the jobs the indigenous refuse to do, whilst paying them to sit idle, is creating crippling demands on the economy. That is the puzzle you need to sort out. You have experimented with a confused version of socialism that has slowly brought your economy down just like the soviet experiment did to Russia. And even we wouldn't have done some of the things you have done.

As I said I like this country but I worry at the choices presented, either right wing isolation ala UKIP or the destruction of sovereignty as per labour. Both present difficulties.

Well said Kim, I have to agree with you.
Politics - As long as I can remember its always been cons or labour in power, as a child my parents drummed it into us to vote labour, my dad now refuses to vote for anyone saying "there all as bad as each other, lie's lie's lie's" and he's absolutely correct. People like Blair/Cameron are traitors to Britain IMO. We need to break the Cons/Labour mould, will it happen? I doubt it.
America's poodle (bang on) always have been and it really pi**es me off, lap dog to the most dangerous terrorists on earth (just my opinion), shocking how our leaders past and present allowed this to happen.
IMO we need to get out of EU, Still allow Foreign WORKERS to come as long as they don't take advantage of our overly generous benefits system, we need workers because Britains younger generation have become complacent knowing they can get free money (great, no need to work then) what a terrible attitude, if they don't want to work they should be made to do national service.
Where do we go from here? No idea but one thing I do know is, I want to be part of Britain again, I want England to feel like home again, I want the people of britain to be patriotic again, unfortunately patriots are now classed as racist.
