ed033 how do you see this whole brexit situation playing out? do you think we will have a clean divorce or do you think we will try and remain to be friends with benefits as it were, I am expecting the tories to win the general election simply because labour are in no fit state to be a worthy opponent at this time, so the question is will Teresa May be any good at getting us the best deals or will she try to keep us in the eu even though the british public have voted to get us out. look forward to hearing your thoughts on this matter.

{Ed033's Note - Their plan [and this bit is not theory but the exact plan] by the time UK leaves the EU, all of the EU legislation would have been brought into UK legislation, which means on the day UK leaves the EU it will be like UK is still in the EU.

[Now we're onto the theory bit.]
However after leaving, it will mean that the EU legislation that has been brought into UK legislation can be altered to suit, but this doesn't mean it will benefit we the people because a load of the legislation won't be allowed to be altered because in order to be part of the EU bits that UK wants to be part of, [which will be most of it] the legislation has to be exactly the same as EU legislation.

So essentially when we leave, it will be almost exactly like being in EU, as even though it now appears to be pick and choose which bits of the EU and their legislation you want to be part of, UK will choose a huge amount of EU bits, whichever Party wins an election.

thanks for the reply ed, so once again its not about what we the people want, its about what the politicians want, and they wonder why people have become disenfranchised with politics, it also goes a long way to explain why they have been dragging there feet on this issue.
{Ed033's Note - yes, it was never about we the people.
