whats everyone's take on getting prosecuted for offensive remarks on twitter and facebook?i found the remarks to the ref and hes wife (mark halsey) absolutely disgusting ,is everyone comfortable with people like that getting a jail sentence? and btw so people think i biased towards liverpool the bellends in the main stand should be banned for life for the gestures towards the man u fans after the game.
frankyscouse

Unfortunately it happens all the time on social network sites, people posting stupid comments, threatening and bullying people etc...most people just use it to vent there anger now, I don't like to admit it but you hear it on that Jeremy Kyle show all the time, you said this on Facebook n you posted things on twitter, it's sad that the world has come to this, but it will continue to happen and if your not a celebrity then you will get away with it mostly

Yeah them fans should be banned for life, they are a joke and should be ashamed of themselves but people like that think they are hard n funny..... Tossers! I'm a Liverpool fan and was ticked off at the
referee but I don't go on twitter or Facebook to have a go at him! unfortunately That is what Facebook has become, a sad social network site were the angre people have a go at people n try to create drama all the time, the youth of today have nothing better to do! Should you get punished for posting threats and stuff ? Yes you should, maybe not a jail sentence but a hefty juicy fine would shut people up

I really dont know were i stand on this,i am for free speech ,getting prosecuted and jailed can be manipulated like the Russian girl group that got jailed for insulting putin,fining them might not work as they could be on the dole anyway,maybe doing voluntary work(a bit like community service) on a cancer ward will bring it home to them.

Liverpool fans have to be impeccable in their conduct,we have had a 23 year war & embargo against certain arms of murdochs empire something a meglomaniac of those proportions is unlikely to forgive & forget we have also given certain politicians a political bloody nose & they also will be uncomfortable to say the least at having to backtrack & apologise for their complete lack of indifference & incompetence expect a lot of negative Liverpool related stories over the next couple of years to manipulate popular thinking, the comments reffering to halsley's cancer are unforgivable,we have to show that we are better than that,let's not react or behave as the media wish to portray us lets outhink them it was we are good at......take away your enemies weapons he cannot fight you..tzun shu

I love the film Constantine and others like that I would love to hear people's thoughts on it in regard to us being puppets or pawns as such or even if you believe in such things or you might think religion is one of the biggest conspiracys cheers pk

Anyone have the pleasure of seeing the "fireball in the sky breaking up..." over the UK this friday evening? Social media is awash with sightings up and down the country and a large number of my own personal friends saw it. Unfortunately I missed it myself but I have a link to a page that shows a few snippets of video taken while it was breaking up.

About 17 years ago when i was 13 or so, i was camping out with mates in the Sunderland area, and we witnessed something exactly the same , however it was much larger most likely closer to the earths surface. About 10 minutes later we felt the floor rumble, and i vaguely remember the news saying it was a meteor and it had landed in the Lancashire sea? I often try and search online to see if there was any more info on it, and can never find anything.

I forgot to add, that the reason it landed in the sea by all accounts is to do with the magnetic fields i was told

just a question to new and old members to this site,with the way new laws and freedom are being taken away from us each day with big brother monitoring everything,do you think sites like this will say in ten years time will be monitored ?similar to McCarthyism
frankyscouse {Ed001's Note - I personally believe they are already being monitored.}

I am sure i mentioned this about a year ago and either you or edd33 dismissed it,any particular reason why edd?
frankyscouse {Ed001's Note - because we have had a lot of attempts to flame threads over the last few months.}
Agree · 0 · Disagree · 0
Sorry to sound dumb, flame threads?
frankyscouse {Ed001's Note - flaming is the deliberate destruction of a discussion by provoking an argument and so steering the discussion away from the topic.}
Agree · 0 · Disagree · 0
Really?any particular topics edd?and is it a certain person doing this or a few?
frankyscouse {Ed001's Note - impossible to say for sure how many people there are, different IP addresses could still be one person. It is the more up to date topics, discussion of news items seems to be the ones that entice them in.}
Agree · 0 · Disagree · 0
Have you put there posts on here even thou there might be a chance they are trying to divert the topic?i have thought even before thou mentioned this that there was one person who was trying to wind up people over a topic i mentioned ,i could be going paranoid thou but i am getting someone or people disagreeing with everything i say which is fine but one of the posts was i was going to middlesbourough for a few days and i got 5 lol.
frankyscouse {Ed001's Note - I would just ignore the disagrees myself, a lot are just accidental on phones and others people trying to cause mischief. We normally give them a chance with their replies, unless they are just being obtuse for the sake of it, when we just delete them.}
Agree · 0 · Disagree · 0
To be honest it would not surprise me at all about sites like this being monitored,a little surprised about the flame threads thing thou,has it happened before on any other sites you know?
frankyscouse {Ed001's Note - happens all the time on the Guardian comments sections, companies employ people specifically to do it.}

Anyone else think this punishment is too harsh?

a friend of mine was being strangled by a middle eastern man for just looking at him (the man thought he was disrespectful)anyway after arguing the man started to attack my friend and strangled him and wouldn't stop so out of desperation my friend bit half an inch of his ear off... my friend suffers with a bad chest and has asthma so panicked and did that.

after a few months of going to court my friend has just received 6 years for what he did.. without appeal.
all because he panicked and lashed out,out of desperation.

a woman who killed her 2 weeks old son got 8 years..
surely the justice system is f~ck~d up.

Was this abroad?

Nope, england.
Agree · 1 · Disagree · 0
Seems like self defence to me,its probably because the guy was middle eastern and they played the racialy motivated card,if it were another english man he would probably just receive a fine,just another example of how messed up this country has become.
Agree · 7 · Disagree · 0
His 50 other convictions did not help i bet
Agree · 3 · Disagree · 0
It is his first offence, he doesn't drink, do drugs or smoke, he has 2 kids and a wife, nobody has a bad word to say about him.. but he gets 6 years for this... strange sentence if you ask me.

Just a quick one to frankyscouse's earlier post you and the other posters are spot on there is to much hate between Liverpool & utd in recent years and it goes over the top but there are times when the humanity will warm your heart I was at the stone roses concert earlier this year on the Sunday when the justice tonight were introduced by John robb (mancunian journalist and top bloke) & a section of the crowd booed,he replied"f#ck all those that booed this not about Manchester & Liverpool this is about people & f#ck thatcher & f#ck Cameron" also cantona took to the stage with them in Lyon,Ian brown John squire played with them & terry Christian speaking out against the lies on the Matthew wright show,sometimes when the establishment attacks the integrity of the working class the working class finds solidarity amongst itself.....jft96 god bless the victims of Munich peace to all...

Brilliant post - couldn't agree more.

Can I ask, is this your quote, or did you borrow it - because I think this is one of the truest statements I've ever heard!

"Sometimes when the establishment attacks the integrity of the working class the working class finds solidarity amongst itself....."

Joe
Agree · 2 · Disagree · 0
It just came into my head joe,I may have read or heard it somewhere but not concious of when or where & thanks for the positive replies think it is important that us do called "ordinary people" support & learn from each other & everywhere I agree with the earlier posts that such divides as religious,geographical & national are reinforced through the media to keep us distracted from real issues,they have a real fear of true collectivism, one theory proposes that the only reason that the working class was educated was because war had become mechanised & basic numeracy & literacy was required winston Churchill is reported to have said " the working class are necessary evil to do dirty jobs & fight wars" I don't know how true this is but he also urged the British government to use mustard gas on Indians protesting for independence this not unique to the right of politics as everyone knows Stalin starved his own people,anyone interested in the mindset of such individuals I can recommend 2 great books "the sociopath next door" by Martha stout m.d. & "without conscience" by doctor Robert harr
Thanks again for the replies & let's take control of our own culture......
