Royals are nothing more than a tourist attraction now.

Never said you couldn't reference it. Just that Watergate is the only comparative in living memory. Everyone knows Watergate and anyone in their 30s can go ask people who lived through it.

If u think about it she obviously had prior knowledge of the one European army and the change to article 50. I'm not saying she rules the world but she is the authority on this island, therefore put her foot down so to speak and took her island back before the rest of the powers that be eg. Brussels bind them into political entrapment. I think there is power struggle going on between the world elites and she is either making a stand or politically attacking the E. U. by starting a trend of referendums for other countries to leave.

By that absurd rationale, if we were both in our thirties we couldn't reference Watergate on the basis that we weren't around when it happened. Ridiculous.

Well the largest of course was 1860-61 but none of us were around. I also don't think any of us were here for Teapot Dome. So Watergate is the only available context.

I'll reverse that. If "big Liz" has so much power and is anti-EU then why did Britain join in the first place? What changed her mind to leave?

It's not going to happen KP. Not a chance. But if it did, it wouldn't be the largest constitutional crisis since Watergate, it would dwarf it.

We can repeal
This will pull us out straight away but do damage
And I read the article 50 can be acted on by Royal Assent or something meaning it does not have to be voted on
Or we can do what other countries have done and refuse to pay sanctions and refuse to pay the membership fee
What they going to do throw us out
At the end of the day we sit hear and let them do as they wish
They will do as they wish

Your right only a fool blinded by the gain will
Ignore the joke of eu.

Does anyone see total anarchy manifest if its not triggered before March?

That new law or act regarding the change of article 50 is just entrapment hidden in amongst political jargon. The poorer countries would never agree to let a big economy leave as It would conflict with there interests. Its a bullying tactic by Brussels.

I believe the current signatures on the petition was 236000 earlier. Around 1% of the Texas population. That figure will pick up. If it came to a vote and Texas did secede it would be the largest constitutional crisis since Watergate.
If, and obviously its a huge if, Texas voted to leave what could the Federal government do. This isn't 1861 and there isn't a pretext to fight a civil war. The entire union would fracture.

Yh this is why people have said this is the only chance to get out
And we are the only ones that can make this happen
They are not going to pull out of this
Have our troops been pulled out of EU
Have they even looked like there doing as told or asked of them
How many have we now heard it's only publics opinion
It's up to us to act on it and force it through
Or we deserve what we get
I mean if we can't help ourselves out then why do we deserve anything.

Btw, that's very crafty regarding the QMV, that is never going to work, and they know it. Hence, each member state is sucked in for a very long time.

Once the new PM is in place, they had better trigger it this year, if not, total uproar ensues me thinks. Can the 1973/ 5 decision be repealed?

A few thousand people out of a population of 20 odd million. I don't see it happening to be honest. If they're willing to start wars half way around the world to get their greedy hands on fossil fuels, they're hardly going to wave goodbye to their own biggest source of it at home.
