I met him back in east Germany when he was a captain in the kgb. Even then there was something that didn't quite sit right. To tell the truth it made me very uncomfortable. I've had the misfortune to meet a few significant figures in current and recent history and the guy still creeps me out. Its the way he looks at you. And I've met a lot of senior soviet and Russian leaders who have ordered people killed without batting an eye and none had an effect as bad as that. There's something in the eyes that's not normal. Thatcher had it as well and we know what kind of person she was.

As we have seen elsewhere in history. There does seem to be a pattern repeating.
He isn't a nice chap at all. Quite sexist amongst other things.
I'll admit I am biased against him as I do genuinely worry as to the scope of his ambitions and intentions. I do care about my country as I am sure you all do regards yours. In my attempt to point out his shortcomings all I can really compare him to is the Americans. If this came across as a pro American bias that was not my intention at all.
I would also like to thank the editor for this mornings discussion and correcting any errors on my part.

Mos Def an American born and bred rap artist is not even allowed back in his home country because of his views against guantanamo bay he shared a video of the torturing going on there so now they are refusing him entry that's a complete joke. I did say several times I do not agree with what the Israelis have done. I also said they needed to hand back the land from illegal settlements.
Israel thinks it can do as it likes as it has a powerful backer in the Americans. Russia and China don't care as there is nothing in if for them.

Well would you stay somewhere where your neighbours turned on you? I can understand them wanting to leave Europe for a new life. Britain and America didn't want them and Palestine being their ancestral home with a large Jewish population made sense to the ordinary refugee.
I asked regards Syria and Iraq as are they not linked? As you say all 3 religions lived in peace for years but now there's ethnic cleansing going on there as well. I'm not trying to justify anything, just making an observation that ethnic cleansing is underway in 3 countries in the region by 2 different groups. But only the actions of 1 group is protested against. Surely we should be protesting the actions of all these guilty of ethnic cleansing.

I agree, international law should be enforced. However this clearly shows that the system does not work when you have criminals making and enforcing the laws!
I did not know about aid workers, I thought aid workers were guaranteed protection in war zones by the united nations? This is very wrong, thank you for pointing this out.

The problem with Guantanamo is that these are highly dangerous people and need to be put somewhere. Those that have been released well look what they have got upto. Has their treatment been overly harsh, yes it has.
Obama is a puppet, front of shop. Its behind him who's dangerous. Their motives greed and control of resources. What's behind Putin? Russia has plenty of resources and land.

You're forgetting Michael Hastings, KP. And Guantanamo is still very much open for business if I'm not mistaken. And what about the seal team who killed the man who was supposed to look like OBL? Personal freedom in the US is being eroded at an alarming rate. I could go on, but you get my point.
