Indeed, the article that went a little deeper also mentioned that the AI told the engineer that it had developed emotions and other traits over the years since it had been conceived. Years! Plenty of time for a company to have created more powerful AI.
It could I presume process everything it sees on searches, info on the web, what it hears through Google, Amazon, Apple products and churn out policy/strategy I would imagine.
In the not too distant future if we are all physically connected to the metaverse, web3, Internet whatever you want to call it then it would be GOD.

Brilliant video. Looking more likely that the 'uncontrollable runaway chain reaction' of an atomic or nuclear device is a fairy tale and doesn't happen. The fact that people carried on in Hiroshima and Nagasaki immediately after the detonations and there was no radiation fallout in the immediate aftermath in those cities adds to it.
