Rise and shine!

The last part of your argument I kinda agree with! If they could they would, so maybe they either can't, or they don't don't know about us as we don't know about them yet!
I'd love to actually see it happen, even just a radio signal of some sort, knowing that yes, there are others out there who get to experience life, and the beauty and mystery of our universe!
But I really struggle to see evidence of any kind of visitation, ever! Yes there are interesting structures, glyphs, monuments, things we still struggle to re-create, story's, illustrations etc. And it's very interesting stuff, no doubt. But no solid evidence to suggest it happened for certain! I wish there was such evidence, and I've looked for it like many others have, but the reason we won't find it is that it's simply just not there. Maybe one day, hopefully I get to see it, they will visit us, I just don't think it will happen in our lifetime. Anyway, that's the only way I see us actually knowing, because we sure aren't travelling through space like that anytime soon so they would have to come here!
Another thing though, why us? We just aren't aware enough of what's really going on out there, so many galaxy's and stars, planets we are finding that are getting more similar to here. But we are not even an ants tear drop in the ocean when it comes to space, so I truly do believe in other beings, I just do t think I'll ever get the chance to be certain!

I was never really interested in hillsborough. Then I read about it in the paper. Then the report came out. That's about it. My beliefs differ from yours on certain theories on this sight, in sorry for that. I may be of the 'brainwashed' kind from the media and so on, but I'm cool with that. Would rather get my info from these sources than from that money grabber David icke or a man that was made to look like a complete and utter person by some1 as vile aspiers Morgan, Alex jones being that 'man'

GBI {Ed001's Note - money grabbers? You mean totally unlike the big corporations feeding you 'truth' such as Sky or ITV? Because they are definitely not out to make money are they? Or are you going to suggest the BBC, that well known bastion of truth, so long as by truth you mean government propaganda or else they lose their license?}

There isn't a single shred of evidence to even suggest such claims! Evolution is why we are where we are today! That's it! Some people don't like that fact, but their it is! Surely you won't actually deny evolution as the process as to our being!
May I ask you a few questions about your belief that someone or whatever created us? Because its already been proven that without a god or whatever, we'd still be as we are anyway because that's were evolution has taken us over millions, if not billions of years! I am sure you are aware that all of the atoms that you are made of come from a star explosion that happened billions of years ago, somewhere out there, so straight away that rules out this crazy creation thing! I'll be honest, I actually strongly believed what you are going on about for quite some time, to an extent anyway, but you simply cannot argue the actual facts or evidence that tells us the questions we all ask!
So anyway here's my questions:

1: what led you to believe in the creation thing? (I won't say creationism to you as I know you are not religious)
2: why do you think we must have a purpose?
3: what is it about evolution you don't agree with?

This is the first I've been on so much in a while, so thanks for kinda provoking me back into commenting again! Lol
And please don't take anything I say personally, I'd ask these questions to anyone, and certainly don't wish to offend! I simply enjoy this page as its where we all have our say with like minded people and I'll always welcome someone questioning me on anything that I may say!

Peace

Jk92 I am with you, I do not believe in any god like I do not believe evolution got us where we are now, I think something we can't comprehend created us.

Jay, we could of been created without a God.

Maybe nature created a species and that species created us. ?

Jay I agree pal but I think we could or already have communicated with them of course we don't have the technology to reach the so many million miles away but they have certainly been to our planet and I'm pretty sure if they wanted to communicate with us they would.

These things are always hard to define. An agnostic atheist would imply that you do not know the origins of the universe - and perhaps will never know- but doesn't think the first cause would be a god more likely natural phenomena. What you are suggesting, that although you reject religion you still feel there needs to be a deity or god to start it. basically you see it as giving purpose. that would likely make you a deist. you see that a deity/god started the universe but that is all. deists reject any kind of personal religion whereby God interacts with us individually and can interfere with natural and physical laws. Hope this helps.

What leads you to think we were "created"? I see no reason why such a thing should be believed with no evidence whatsoever, especially when we already know about the (very slow in our time frame) process of evolution!

GBI you say after the first Boston blast and before the second, the net was awash with theories, and you cannot believe this (and how repugnant it is) Yah I can't believe it too as they where seconds apart. Am I mistaken or did you really have some sort of reasoning here?

From what you're saying, you believe something created us, so I guess that rules out atheism. What you're describing may be creationism by some people's definition, but others here may have a better explanation than me. I think a lot of people think along the same lines as you. Like most people, I used to keep the door open to the possibility of a greater power, a god if you will, whilst rejecting the doctrine of any church. It's a great comfort to believe in a deity, and letting go of that is very frightening. Sadly, and I'm not trying to provoke an argument with anyone here, I think the whole idea of god is the greatest conspiracy of them all. For thousands of years it's been the most effective way to sedate the masses. Ryan.

Captain!

I don't think you sound crazy for believing that aliens exist, and by alien I mean other life form! Not the media/Hollywood type. Not that I don't think they "couldn't" exist, simply just that we basically created a physical representation that has stuck, so when you say the word "alien" some may find it strange!
I see it as this: We live in a Galaxy where the only life we know of is on earth, from the microscopic to the bipedals like us. The complexity and variety of life truly is astounding and quite breathtaking! So of all the planets that we know of life is very rare, but I put this to anyone who believes we are alone in our vast universe. As far as we know, there are at least 100 billion galaxy's, albeit we know very little of them as the obvious hurdle of distance and stage of our technology. But surely no one could really think that we are the one in 100 billion that has life, intelligent life even. The only trouble is the distances to these other galaxy's, so we will probably never really know, if there is others out there, and even if we did did out there was, we'd never get to communicate with them as I've mentioned, the vast distances simply make it impossible (in this day and age, maybe in the next few 1000 - 1000000 years, which is a very small amount of time space wise) and I think that part is very unfortunate indeed!
So I truly believe there is a great chance of other beings or whatever you'd like to call it out there, I just think we will never really know!

Peace

I've seen a programme where all the conspiracy theories are put to test, it has the guy from the loose change group. Every theory is put to bed. Stuff like that is enough for me, but any1 who wants to see a different event will eventually see what they want to see. As I said b4 to u franky my mind is as open as it can be espicially since the hillsborough cover up. The Boston bombers are there to be seen along with the aftermath.

GBI

{Ed033's Note - "Every theory is put to bed." That is nonsense.

Its a good question comrade 9 (liking your name as well)my take on it is to always question what is being told to us, I rather be called a foolish person than letting the grains of sand go by and not even bothering.

Gbi you remind me of a twitter follower who wants bona fide evidence wrapped up with the words the real truth, let's be straight none of us know what the real truth is but we do a bit of research from various outlets, then we look at the pros and cons of any event and what impact it makes in the future and finally we make a educated guess and give are opinion, no doubt you would have questioned the bay of tonkin incident when it happened as not being true which is your prerogative but some of us on this site like to keep a open mind.
