Vigilantes wouldn't be needed if the police done there jobs properly. It's no good handing out badges of honour AKA ASBOs, coz lets face it , they don't work in the majority of cases. I agree with Franky, it's a thumbs up from me too.

Franky ya spot on again fella. I'm a truck driver and, like bus drivers, I have to do a driver CPC (Certificate of Proffesional Competance). This has been rolled out all across the EU. I paid a good few quid to earn my class 1 licence and these goons are basically making myself and other truck/bus drivers learn how to suck an egg. This is the biggest money spinner since religion. It's not a one off course either. It has to be done every 5 years and can cost upwards of £400 a throw and if you dont do it your hard earned and expensive licence gets suspended. Most companies pay for this but some don't. I only spend one day a year in a classroom and yea it's an easy day, but I would rather spend that day earning my wage as opposed to sitting bored shi*tless in a classroom. The EU government seem to have forgotten, without trucks you get nothing.

I'd say they obviously have a witness(s) to April getting into his vehicle, maybe from a child who was also playing with her, she wouldn't have been all alone I think.
You know nothing about this mans history, he could be a registered child sex offender with a past which suggests something, maybe it needs to be kept out of the press to not effect any potential trial. The police will also be playing percentages regarding the likelihood of her being found alive based on how long she's been missing. But as a parent myself I would still not let my kids go down the park without an adult I know (very well) and trust. To this day they haven't gone out without a member of family or friends in tow with the other children's parents. Not at the age of 6 & 8 let alone 5! So yes I do hold the parents partly responsible as a parent myself. I see kids walking to school quite along way around the age of 5 and i wouldn't allow my kids to. Someone tried to drag my wife into a car on her way to school when she was 6 about 25 years ago. She bit him& got away. God knows what might have happened. She shouldn't have been alone really on her way to school.
It only takes the once! Kids need to know danger signs granted but in their own time amongst parents.

I'm shocked you blame the parents to be quite honest. The guy who has been arrested was known to the family so it wouldn't really matter how far away from the house she was or what time of day or night it was. Fact is she knew him so she would have got in that car at any time, in any place. To blame to the parents for this tells me you probably haven't got any kids yourself. Human nature is to follow, children are easy to influence, you can't blame the parents for that.
@ religion
If theres one thing that wasn't any part of this case it was religion.
Facts as I see them:
-Suspect named by police before being charged
-Not looking for anyone other than the guy they are holding
-Very specific search location
-Enquiry elevated to murder
-Charges not brought yet
-Public appeals were STILL made AFTER the arrest of the suspect
This would suggest to me that police know something they have not made public yet. We can only wait and see what that is but its clear right now they are looking for a corpse. I believe they will charge the guy for sure because they named him so quickly they just wanted to find the body first. If they don't find her by 5pm tomorrow then they will charge him anyway. Discovering the body is the difference between circumstantial and hard evidence. I do find the public appeals odd though and I would say they only did them owing to the 48 hour golden window and trying to keep community spirits up.
Guantanamo bay should be put to some decent use for once for the person found guilty without a shadow of a doubt of this crime.

Franky, no i don't go along with the "saviours of the world" garbage, thats just the stuff people put out there to distract away from the problems like the womanising, the mafia connections etc.
Joe Kennedy was a bit of a turd agreed but Jack and Bobby did rebel a bit away from what he expected once Jack was elected.
However i do think the world would have been a different place had JFK lived and won a second term. Vietnam wouldn't have become the hell it did. The Cold War could have been very different.
You can only compare these people though on the idealogy, aims and achievements and stand JFK against Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagon, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II and Obama and you can see the decline.
I don't buy that every politician is corrupt. A lot, maybe most. The system corrupts after all. Sometimes you do get noble men with good intentions who end up corrupted, or maybe end up murdered as they are not corrupt.
If you want to see a truly corrupt American politcial family then i suggest the Bush's, they make even Joe Kennedy seem tame....

I think turning the case of a missing girl, most likely one who is dead after most likely a nasty ordeal, into a religious debate is a bit wrong.
However it is always the religious ones that can't seem to take any criticism then have the hypocrisy to call others insensitive whilst belittling the ones of us who don't believe in their fairy stories.

Read discussionThe comments regarding religion are totally out of line.
If you decide to live your life a certain way that is your prerogative but to demean other people for their beliefs is irresponsible and juvenile.
Ed001 in regards to your comment you need to understand that whoever the higher power is that created this place and put us here whether you believe its a God or aliens or whatever, they do not intervene with our free will. If a sick paedophile wants to snatch little girls then thats the reality he has created for himself and there isnt going to be some long bearded man in the sky thats going to change that.
Your comment is almost sickening actually. As an editor on this site I would expect a bit more sensitivity and responsibilty from you.
What chance has this site got when its got biggots like you managing it. {Ed001's Note - you need to go read a dictionary and learn the meaning of the words you are using before making accusations. I fail to see how my comment is as sickening as your false and slanderous accusations? Perhaps if I was 5 years old and couldn't understand that others have different views from me, then I might find it sickening that someone questions my beliefs. Unfortunately, I am mature enough to understand that people have different views from myself, however farcical those beliefs may be to me. I have no need to be sensitive to your religious beliefs, nor anyone else's. Why should I be? I think you are confused, perhaps you should try a christian site or something similar. When you can show a sensitivity to others' differing beliefs from your own, then you can talk about others respecting yours. Until then, you are just another whining religious fanatic who can't accept any other viewpoint and so are in no position to make demands.}

I am not sticking up for big landowners,the new legal documents and permits will not effect them anyway, i am on about guys who run small operations to try to make a living which is not guaranteed anyway and the only reason they are prob letting the cameras on site is for a bit of extra revenue ,do you honestly think a big landowner would allow a camera and crew rolling around there operations?i dont think so.lets just say we agree to disagree.

Don't know much about it but was'nt that the reason the lorry driver's were striking a few month's ago. There won't be many dricer's with all licenses so they'll want paying extra for having them anyway. Also Ed is spot-on regarding health & hygeine, I have alot of dealing-s with them over the years and they are quite a lenient bunch, even the deadline they give you can be abused a bit....er...so I've been told.

It may have been the case 50 years ago but you cant judge these new regulations on fair pay and treating them like slaves as they only get paid if they hit the oil or find the gold, to me its another way to tax them.

Well just to add to what franky is saying have any of use heard about the new law for lorrys over 7.5ton? you now need an extra license to drive one for a business and have enough funds in the bank to operate i think its 3grand you also have to have everthing inspected once a year so my question is what is the point? as a small business owner with small margin in profit this has the potential to be devastating and for what? you already spend thousands getting an hgv licence and psv

I am not on about a run of the mill pub or restaurant my point is natural resources like gold/oil/coal are getting harder to run by families that have been doing it for generations because of the red tape and and bureaucracy.

So because its never happened to you its rubbish?and the term expert means its anything but a expert , its just a piece of paper saying your ok to go ahead for a fee to prove it.
frankyscouse {Ed001's Note - no, because it doesn't happen except on 'reality' TV. Go ask in any restaurant what happens if they fail health and safety tests. They get a written report of things to fix and a date to get them done by. If they aren't done the place is closed down. No 'experts' sent in, just straight closure until the issues are fixed. Those programmes are as much a pack of lies as any propaganda show.}
