Hey Ed032, I like the way you think! Yes, I believe there is a single, universal truth at the heart of all religions and philosophies. We can slowly start to unravel it by studying any of them individually or all of them as a whole.

For anyone wanting to explore this idea I would suggest looking into any of the following;

*Hermetic Philosophy
*Perennial Philosophy
*Neo Platonism

There's a metaphor in Indian philosophy that the material world is but "God"'s dream. We are all characters in the dream but it's only One source of consciousness at the the heart of each individual. And yes that's why we might have subtle feelings of interconnectedness at times and why we get the feeling that there is 'something more'.

The Satan character is a symbol of our Ego, the part of our psyche that keeps us feeling separate by veiling the interconnectedness of all things. The part of us that fears, hates, compares, feels jealous etc. In modern day society the elite control mechanisms represent Satan in that they play to this part of our mind through media, education advertising etc- programming us to feel as isolated and separate as possible. This keeps us from fulfilling our true potential and keeps us subservient as it's easier to control a group of disparate individuals.

Yes this stuff sounds crazy at first lol. I like to think of it as valuable ancient wisdom codified for future use. Like a puzzle to gradually unravel in a search for fulfillment and freedom.

Relating to my previous Biblical post...

Ed032 yes, quietening the mind is an effective way to allow the voice of the Higher Self through. Otherwise our conditioned/programmmed mind gets in the way. I find the clearest insights often happen spontaneously and when I'm least expecting it.

Supasub, I hear you. God is a term with a long history of connotations. It doesn't bother me any longer but using a more neutral term can be useful as it's less likely to turn people off. Would be a cool project to re-write the Bible using more neutral terms like those.

I lean towards Pantheism or Panentheism which means 'God' is just a name for Everything, the All, universal consciousness etc. The physical universe, including each of us, is a manifestation of that fundamental force at the heart of it all. It's just a case of how clearly we each realise it. That is the path to spiritual awakening, enlightenment, or salvation, as described in the ancient texts of many cultures.

No problem Ed, hope you find some energy and feel better soon! We can always revisit this topic in the future, not the kind of thing that can be worked out quickly.

Hey Ed032. Seems we have similar thoughts about the nature of Self and the role of scripture in helping us to understand it. The Bible is a flippin confusing set of texts to understand at times though! Probably because it contains a mix of wisdom, history, propoganda and esoteric/occult knowledge, as well as many other things. So I thought it would be cool to make a post about some of the "keys" that may help us to better understand it.

I'll throw in a few suggestions.

1) Adam, Moses and Jesus all represent humanity in general. Regardless of whether they existed in history, their stories contain wisdom about the journey of life we all face.

2) The overarching theme throughout the Bible is one of starting off with God* only to be separated from Him, then our return journey to oneness with Him. This can be seen in the stories of Adam, Moses, Jesus as well as the parable of the Prodigal Son.

3) The 'separation' from God is what we need to overcome during this lifetime. To break free from our perceived limitations and isolation. In conspiratorial terms we can think of this as breaking free from 'the matrix'.

4) The kingdom of God/Heaven is a state of mind, or rather a state of being, that we all can experience during THIS lifetime. It is the result of realising our true nature and living in alignment with it. Hell is also a state of being, of great suffering, that we experience by giving into selfish and destructive desires. Note - modern society is designed to mould us in this direction!

And so on...

*God - I appreciate this term is troublesome for many people who have a negative impression of organised religion. I've been there. I think of it these days as a symbol for the Source of our energy, will, consciousness, existence etc rather than an anthropormorphic deity sitting up in the clouds. I find this makes it more palatable and gets us back closer to the truth of how the earliest spiritual ancient folks would have understood it.

Sorry for the mega long post! I had to cut myself short, believe it or not lol. I have saved a copy in case you think it's not appropriate for this page 🙏

Same to you Ed032, some interesting thoughts there. I know right, probably would choose a different name if I was making my account today 🤣

I like what you said about "being thyself". I think first we have to "know thyself" but agree that the end goal is to just "be" once we have realised our true nature.

Control, limiting beliefs etc are what keep us from realising that true, expansive nature, as you say. Keeps us from experiencing the infinite source of existence that dwells within. Tools like meditation, contemplation, self enquiry etc are useful to loosen the grip of those illusory limitations IMO. But it's a lifelong process that we need to find a way to enjoy in the here and now. If we can master that in the present, life naturally begins to unfold in a more meaningful way.

I largely agree Ed032. Instinct and intuition are powerful tools. The mind is also a useful tool but is easily corrupted through socialisation. Being conscious of our feelings, the way thoughts manifest as physical sensations, is also a useful tool IMO. It can give us an indication of the value of those thoughts.

As a race we are struggling to find purpose in a (deliberately?) chaotic world. We are suffering from individual and collective traumas caused by the dysfunctional society we live in. This stops us from feeling whole and fulfilled, which makes us more easily controlled.

The good news is there may be ways of healing those traumas and helping others to do the same. We do this by firstly getting to know our true, authentic self, that is buried beneath the fictional self which is a product of this dysfunctional system.

Couldn't agree more Ed032. I think our best bet is to make personal changes and try to help others around us to do the same. Far from ideal but as you say the folks at the top ain't guna help because their interests lie elsewhere.

I've done zero research into this topic but it amazes me that people think this is a good solution to the meat industry problem and that it won't throw up a whole raft of new problems, including human health issues. It's like humans are destined to try and conquer nature, and when that fails we come up with a solution that (again) tries to conquer nature rather than work with it.

Yes Ed032 I agree we can find different valuable meanings depending on our perspective. Also, the more we study and contemplate the more the veil starts to fall which allows deeper understanding over time.

Good point about the translations causing difficulties. In many cases going back to the original Aramaic or Hebrew terminology is useful. There are certain words that don't have a direct translation into modern English and therefore we are at the whim of what the particular scribe had in mind when translating.

Interesting video on esoteric truths of the Bible on the last page. I would agree that to focus on the stories within from
a purely physical/literal perspective is to miss the point. There are many 'keys' to better understanding the true knowledge of the Bible IMO and one of the most obvious is that the stories usually relate to our inner world. Like, turning water into wine can represent an inner alchemical transformation rather than a magic trick played by Jesus 2,000 years ago.

I suspect there are many other keys and I endeavour to seek them out.

Great response, Ed032! That suggestion and the video are exactly the kind of thing I was thinking of, so thanks. When I've had a chance to watch it in full I will respond again.

One technique I like to use is to show empathy and compassion - to show that I understand the opposing view whether I agree with it or not. The more common ground I can find before presenting my counter position in a respectful manner - the more fruitful the conversion will be and the more likely the other party is to truly listen to what I'm saying rather than being closed off.

I see conspiracy subjects being shared in certain public forums and it always descends into two camps abusing each other, getting defensive, and nobody shifting their position. Just creates more division and conflict.

Anyway thanks again for the thoughtful response. Looking forward to checking out the video!

I'm sure most agree that TPTB use fear, hatred and division as tools to create a disparate society that is easier to control. Love and unity are a more effective way to encourage positive change IMO. The Aesop's Fable of the sun and the north wind comes to mind, the moral being told is "that kindness and gentleness prevail over violence and force."

It makes me wonder how we in the 'truth community' should go about trying to encourage positive change among our peers. If we fall into the 'us v them' mentality of labelling those who don't agree with us using negative connotations like being blind slaves or being sheep (which I've done plenty of) - are we playing into that division and therefore exasperating the situation? Do we have a duty to find a way to rise above that approach by bringing people together from a more inclusive and positive angle? And how would that even be done? (I have a few basic ideas).

Or is the world too far gone and what I'm suggesting amounts to nothing more than wishful thinking? Have we reached a point of emergency where we must fight fire with fire?

Hope this post doesn't come across as judgemental nor defeatist. It's designed to be thought provoking and encourage different ways of seeing a solution of bringing awareness to the issues we all see before us. I'm sure we've all felt like we are banging our head against the proverbial wall, at times. Seeing little progress etc.

I would like to add

"Know thyself"

The journey to know the true self (Soul) begins by questioning our own identity IMO.

Who Am I?

No worries at all Ed032. It's heart warming to see the support that essentially strangers on the internet have shown. I hope you get what you need and wish you the best.

Yes number 8 is difficult and I can't say I've faced the same battle as you so don't want to come across as belittling it or to make things sound easy. My struggles have been moreso with psychological pain. I don't know if you're into meditation but I've found that to be a useful tool in distancing myself from painful sensations, becoming the 'witness' to them if you will. Eckhart Tolle has a few videos talking about dealing with pain with the power of oresence. Obviously it's not a miracle cure but who knows, could gradually help to improve over time.

There are alternative treatments also like Acupuncture with apparently work well for pain, although I appreciate that costs money, unless you could get the NHS to advocate it.

Best of luck Ed032 and enjoy the short break.

Hey folks, hope you're keeping well. Apologies in advance for the lengthy post!

I'm more into exploring spirituality these days than researching conspiracies. Partly because it's better for my own mental health and partly because I think I can help more people from this positive pov than I can by introducing more fear and hatred into their lives. I do find that there are areas where both worlds overlap, though, which provides for some interesting topics to consider. In some ways they are both similar pursuits - both about uncovering hidden wisdom - but they come at it from different angles.

Anywho, here is a list of things that according to Buddhists over two thousand years ago, would keep us from being happy;

THE 8 CONCERNS THAT PREVENT HAPPINESS:
1. Taking delight in having money and material possessions.
2. Being disappointed, upset, angry when we lose possessions or don't get them.
3. Feeling delighted when people praise us and approve of us and tell us how wonderful we are.
4. Feeling very upset and dejected when they criticize us and disapprove of us-even if they are telling us the truth!
5. Feeling delighted when we have a good reputation and a good image.
6. Being dejected and upset when we have a bad reputation.
7. Feeling delighted when we experience sense pleasures-fantastic sights, sounds, odors, tastes and tactile sensations.
8. Feeling dejected and upset when we have unpleasant sensations.

What I find interesting is that those 8 points read like a summary of modern day western culture! We're programmed from childhood to see ourselves as individuals and to compete against others, to put our efforts into seeking pleasure and material wealth etc. If you wanted to create a society that keeps its people opressed and never fulfilled - sounds like the ideal model!

I think the wisdom of our spiritual ancestors can provide us with many clues about how to break free from the 'matrix'. Perhaps a practical place to start would be to find a lifestyle that embodies the opposite of these points and encourage others to do the same, in the search for happiness and fulfillment?

The less dependant we are to the whims of those who control things, the closer we get to liberation IMO.

Hi Ed032, yes I agree we have to be careful with any medical measures. I will take a look at the health page thanks.

Yes I'm a Wim Hoff fan, that's where I got it from. I'm very much into exploring my spirituality and true nature. I actually believe it's the best way to combat the negative aspects of this world - to raise our own levels of consciousness and inspire others to do the same.

The war we face exists on the immaterial plane and is reflected in our physical world IMO.

One thing I wanted to add

Something that is great for general wellbeing and some say boosts the immune system is cold water therapy. Easiest way to start is just do 30 seconds of cold shower at the end of a normal shower. If nothing else, I can assure you it feels great!
