A few years back, I had the Head Cashier for Barclays in my taxi. She explained how important her job was, to tally all Barclays banks, everyday. I asked 'what about Northern Rock?'. She stated Barclays refused to lend to Northern Rock because of their exposure to US sub prime mortgages. So I countered, money doesn't really exist then, it's just fiction. Brainwashed as she was, she insisted it was real.
My final question. 'If everyone withdrew their balance, from their accounts. What would happen?'
