I was talking to my wife about things that made an impact on me when I was young and the one thing that stood out after about 40 years was a "Nationwide" story about a woman being terrified by a creature with red eyes that has climbed the stairs in her home.
The reason this stick out for me was that the tv screen at the moment they mentioned red eyes went black and they flashed two glowing eyes out - scared me rigid as a 6 year old!
Does anyone else remember this story and if so do they remember any follow up to it?
Funnily enough my grandmother claimed that a creature with red eyes looked into her living room window at night, even though the drop from her living room to the ground outside was around 12 foot. Before you say it - she told me about it years after the Nationwide story.
Anyone else have similar stories?
Never heard of it to be honest I will ask tom slemmen (who writes books about stuff like that)

Spring Heeled Jack was a Victorian myth if I remember rightly.
Although my recollection is hazy now - old age gets to us all! - I think this story ran around 76-78ish.
A woman was interviewed saying that she woke one night to see a black shadow standing on her landing with luminous red eyes - this was when the tv when black and they flashed two red lights on screen - as you can imagine that was pretty scary in those days.
I'm sure it was the programme Nationwide that the report was on.
As for the beast at my gran's window she said it was black headed and had piercing red eyes. looked at her throught the pane and then dropped down as if going to all fours - maybe this was a Rhondda Valley ABC? :)

Not a conspiracy as such but something I hope regular posters have maybe looked at before. Any locations on google maps that are strange, out of place, suspicious etc? If anyone has seen any places and would maybe like to comment on why it is significant so I could have a look it would be appreciated. Does that mean those scientist on that space program with dara o'briain (cant remember the scientist name he was in a group in the 90s) is basically lying or hoodwinked?

I think either these scientists that get onto mainstream are either:
1. Paid to say what they're told
2. Too scared to say anything other than what has already been decided, otherwise they lose their funding
3. They rely on the info from the totally controlled scientific journals that never say anything other than what has already been decided
Imo, from the alleged pictures from probes sent to mars, mars has a blueish sky, has liquid water near the equator and has plant lifeforms.

I think your 3rd point makes more sense on the bbc program I have seen, how can they contradict what NASA are telling them?
if mars is similar to earth maybe the chosen few are cherry picked or maybe live there as they have no qualms about destroying mankind and every species on this planet.

I read that a Mars day is 1. 03 times an Earth day or 24. 72 hours. Interesting when you consider that the human circadian rhythm is closer to 25 hours than 24.
If Mars isn't red, you've got to wonder what other lies they're peddling.

Ed001, it seems recently a lot of debate has taken place on here about religion, whereby you could make a case for ignorant people believing, just as much as ignorant people dismissing religion and more so the idea of a god, as fact, when it can't factually be proven either way.
An assumption I'd make would be that most of the people who dismiss religion and have a strong hatred of the process of religious beliefs would do so on the premise of the theory of evolution. Which once again I would think they very ignorantly push as a factual belief. I remember a few years back you expressed your view on how evolution of the human species has been no more proven then religion, due to the missing link between apes and humans. (Not word for word, and sorry if I've put words in your mouth)
I was hoping, when time permits, you could once again share your views on the theory of evolution, and the missing link, as I think it would help those who dismiss religion for their theory of creation, be a little more tolerant.

{Ed001's Note - it is funny you should mention this, as I was talking to Ed033 the other day about a number of things that make me wonder how the Theory of Evolution can be accepted so readily as fact. The missing link is a major part of it, but one that could be as simple as just down to us not having found it yet. There are so many other things, I really wish I had made a list when we were talking so I could remember them all now. I will post the ones I can think of now, and add more when I think of them. Maybe some of them evolutionists could explain to me and so drop them out of it, but there are some that really don't make any sense.
For one, it has been shown that our natural biological clock is a 25 hour rhythm. Now why would a creature evolved on a world with a 24 hour daily cycle develop a 25 hour cycle naturally? It doesn't help in any way.
Why do humans spring into being so quickly? Everything else takes hundreds of millions of years, yet we supposedly evolved in what, in evolutionary terms, is the blink of an eye! Now that would make sense if there is crossbreeding, similar to the way humans create dog species by specifically crossbreeding them in order to make a dog for a specific purpose (is that a minor form of intelligent design?). That would require humanoid creatures of a level of intelligence far in advance of monkeys and apes to already populate the earth, millions of years before we are told humanoids appeared.
Where are the transitions from light gathering organs to the many variations of eyes we see in the natural world today? There is plentiful evidence of minor changes, in size, shape, colour, length of appendages etc. What we have no evidence of is animals changing number of limbs, where eyes originated from or development of them into the many different types. There are many other transitions, which Darwin himself mentioned when he put forward the theory, saying it is one of the 4 major holes he himself envisaged.
I will leave it there for now and add to it later as I can remember the other things we discussed, as it was one of those spur of the moment conversations that I wish I had come and posted about on here straight away!
One more thing, I am not saying the Theory of Evolution is wrong, false or anything like that. What I am saying is that it is still merely a theory, with many gaping holes and should not be accepted as fact. There is nothing to be gained by closing our minds off to the possibility it could be wrong. Just like there is no harm in accepting that, while I am an atheist, I could very well turn out to be wrong and there is a creator figure at the centre of everything. The only way to learn more is to keep your mind open to new possibilities and accept that all of us are fallible and can be wrong.}
Some brilliant points, to which I hope some of us on the page, who believe the theory of evolution will engage in some debate over.

Personally I think its just closed mindedness. Most people, unfortunately, tend to see the world in black and white, when it is generally pretty grey. I think creationists tend to think if they accept evolution then the rest of their belief systems are not as valid as they once were.
That and society as a whole tends to struggle admitting they are wrong about something, whereas I think the ability to admit you don't know something or are in fact wrong about something is one of the greatest strengths we can possess.
Not saying either side is wrong BTW.

What puzzles me is how homo sapiens is supposed to have been around several hundred thousand years but civilisation has only been around for only 12000?
So why the large gap. I also read an interesting site about an ancient nuclear war in India and how the resulting fall out has made carbon dating unreliable and that all these results that come back as millions of years are actually more recent.
Interesting topic. Obviously in school we had no religious education so only got the scientific version.

Define Jesus Christ they probably crucified someone called Jesus Christ but I doubt very much he was the son of God. God is not real. he does not exist. Religion is a massive pain that causes problems that we would be better of without.

Something that always strikes me as odd is how some people are so quick to present their belief/non belief as fact.
I don't believe in God, but I can't say God does not exist. There is no proof either way. But even as a non believer I can see every day how religion can be a great thing for many people.
Religion isn't the problem. Lack of respect and intolerance towards differing points of view is the problem.

I'm sure most wouldn't be up to date with Australian politics, so I thought I'd just let everyone know how its tracking. The budget was released today. Cuts to pretty much all sectors, no surprises there, as we need to get on top of this debt, so were told. What's bewildering is the promise that national infrastructure will continue to be plowed into, and that these cuts will save our nations economy, in the long run, of course. Wouldn't you think the western world's infrastructure could stop being upgraded every year at the expense of the people? Or is big business more important then education and health? (rhetorical)
The question I have is how does a country with the second highest worldwide average earnings, a ridiculously low unemployment rate, and great GDP still manage to get itself into such a deficit? And why the **** are we the people (middle and low income earners in this instance (in every ****king instance)) being made to foot the bill of those that run the books and are not held accountable and charged for their actions? Why is it that the public medical sector gets culled yet big business doesn't get hit? How is that for the "good of the nation"?
To those that come on these pages and ridicule those of us who are awake to the corruption of the world, power of the elite and cooperation of governments this is a prime example of what we speak of. If something isn't profitable it isn't worth doing whether or not it affects 75% of the population. Why do governments need to be in surplus when they are not designed as a profitable business? They are meant to serve the people! Or at least they were.
Anyone that doubts the new world order or Illuminati ask yourself one question - when a government is in deficit, who do they owe this money too? Who has the power to bankrupt a nation, if that nations goverent is the top of the pile? If they were the people running your country's they would be answerable to no one but the people and yet it is so obvious that they are not answerable to us. An election every 4 years is not an accountable approach. Wake up. Sorry for the rant eds, but I am livid.
