I agree ed, but i think it would be ignorant for everyone to just dismiss it, but like many ancient civilizations how did they know so much about the solar system? and why don't main stream scientists ever talk about the sumerians? it's like they don't want people to know they exists.

also with the genetics of us, people argue that we share like 95% of our dna with chimps so we must be a close relative of them but what people should also know is that we share like 50% of our dna with a mouse.

Main stream scientists either talk a load of rubbish on these subjects or don't talk about these subjects because they'd either lose funding or lose their credibility if they uttered a bit of truth on these subjects. These bigfoot/alma creatures are way more intelligent than chimpanzees so there would have to be some kind of change if they were recognised as real and religions tend not to like change.

Just on the Mayan Calendar, It is simply the end of a long count of 5,125 years and in no way foretells the end of the world or any such doomsday scenario. The Mayan calendar is actually more precise than our Gregorian calendar because they viewed time over a greater period than we do. Theirs is also a solar calendar with emphasis placed on the solstices, equinoxes and the new year. Our society is fixated on a lineal concept of time in minutes, hours and days. Something i personally think is used to convince people they must become part of the rat race. However, the Mayans looked to the heavens to both the sun and the stars and viewed time as part of their creation and mythology. Their prophecies have since been joined to the calendar by western society hence the idea of a worlds' end. One of the most plausible explanations for the calendar and the prophecies is that it has to do with precession. This is the wobble of the earth on its axis and adjusts the heavens accordingly. At 1 degree every 72 years it takes about 26,000 for the Earth to go through one precessional cycle. The problem is how could the Mayans be as accurate as they were when society tells us humanity, as we know it, is supposedly only 50,000 years old. Look up the work of John Major Jenkins for greater insight about the Mayan calendar and their prophecies.

Don't forget that Bin Laden consistently denied any knowledge of the attack. He did praise whoever orchastrated the attack on 911 but never took credit for it. Khalid Sheikh Mohammad has been referred to as the "mastermind behind 911" before and after his capture by the US, without any news media questioning the title. As for Bin Laden being alive, I don't think he is. His death will be used to make sure the person they want to remain in power does so, Obama.

I believe there is some element of truth in the theories. Too many cultures across the world have stories concerning "sky people" for there not to be some connection. The history we are taught today is basically a Victorian construct with its inherent morality. Though we accept the middle east as the cradle of civilization, their ideas about where we came from seem to be dismissed out of hand. Of course we believe we are at the most advanced stage of our civilization while forgetting we are at our most distant "spiritually" ffrom the greater cosmos. Our ancestors had greater knowledge and interaction with the sky above us than we will ever as a people.

I think all of you are right apart from bin larden being alive,i think he died many years ago from a illness(liver disease) and he would have been assainated even if he was on cia payroll,to dangerous to fall in the wrong hands.

Im glad that you all see these religions as equally stupid check archives for waht im on about sorry just started on this site but some may know me from the Liverpool one.

Im in agreement with all the above why distinguish one as more stupid than the other and to be honest Ron Hubbard wrote his religion as I believe an unpublished story book then people high on LSD believed it and he made money at least he didnt use his power to start wars or anything.

It depends the theory I believe is that the Twin towers were chosen as a landmark to destroy because they were in effect going to be destroyed anyway because they were filled with Asbestos insulation.

Can't remember anyone slagging of scientology! Me personally anything that involves possible cults with the creators of the so called religion gaining wealth from doing so in my eyes is not true! I believe their principles more than i believe christian principles but the creator of scientology Lafayette Ronald Hubbard who was estimated to be worth a net £600 Million dollars was charged with fraud in 1978 and got 4 year prison service which was unserved and a £35000 fine. My point with this one is people discredit religion and beliefs based on facts! The only fact here is that L Ronald Hubbard was making a massive profit from scientology just like the vatican did with Christianity! There are no true religion's that dont make some people rich!

As Ive said before, thousands of years ago religion made sense. People didnt know much so its obvious that they were going to come to the conclusion of a divine being or beings. There is no place for religion in todays world, they used to beleive that a god made things happen and over the years when science has proven how things happen the religios people still are blinded by ignorance. If you had never been told these fairy stories when you were young, and had never heard of religion and picked up a copy of the Bible or Torah, at what point would these people think it was beleivable ? Noahs ark with millions of animals not eating each other ? Maybe earlier with the talking snake ?
Its true, I know people who arent religios but still refer to muslims as 'them' and when its December they say 'our' chrismas, things like that. I look at chritians, muslims, jews, scientologists, jehovas as all as equally deluded as the next. There could be something more to life, I accept that, but its relegions with their fairy stories and mass donations to elite families and movements that people blatantly beleive and devote their lives to which i cant comprehend. If there is something out there or someone, you must accept that it could be evil not good, think of an innocent baby that dies of cancer for instance..........
