I know first hand of the hatred that the scots hold against the English! I do know that it's the same as all peoples some are fine and others are appalling. I base this on been a uk oil and gas worker and working in the uk and it's waters! About 80% of the people I work with are Scottish and I would say that out the ones I have worked with 50% absolutely detest the English I have been ignored things thrown at me, spoke to like crap and the reason wasn't kept a secret! I then relocated to work on uk soil on land based ops and then the rig crews were mainly English but we would get third party's working with us from Scotland .

One example I went into the canteen and three were sat down I put the kettle on and said hello would anyone like a cup of tea or coffee and piece of cake! Deadly silence no reply. I then made my drink and sat nex to them and asked if they didn't hear me to which they replied f*** off you English prick! I just laughed.

My point is you get that in all walks of life but in my experience there is a worrying percentage in the field I work of real hatred like I say at least half I have met and it isn't banter or light hearted it's real hate

Mr Ons - I seen this morning a Scotsman reporter received a grovelling apology from his online accusers (if it's the same situation? )

Scotland 2016, this is what we've reduced ourselves to. Sad times!

Anything that's extreme is just that, extreme.

Including extreme left wing, that's been shown to be intolerant as well.

There are approximately 100 million stars (suns) in the galaxy that we are in. There are approximately 100 billion galaxies in the observable universe.

If there are planets around just a small percentage of these suns (which we know there are), then there is very, very high chance that life will exist on another planet in the universe.

Not only that, a lot of scientists are now suggesting that the amino acids needed to start life on Earth, may originated on Mars and due to an asteroid impact, arrived on Earth in the debris.

If you know it was a Scotsman reporter then there will be recourse, I'd of thought anyway. Is the SNP MP still SNP or Independent at the moment due to financial (ahem) irregularities -just wondering if its an embarrassing exchange I seen as well?

I won't be posting links to this vileness, you'll have to take my word for this one. But if you know about the situation, you will know the online mag and the bloggers and different sites associated.

I am pro-indy but I knew it was doing more damage than good, most SNP elected members distanced themselves a long time ago from this one.

Scotland have always asked questions (I posted in the politics page as this is the anniversary of Black Friday, the Battle of George Square) but I think we're actually asking less at the moment, we've become complacent and I've never known anything like it to be honest. Its almost as if we've too scared to ask any party that's pro-indy too many questions?

Not sure what anti-English stuff has been written can you post a couple of links from this person. But I do know what you mean about not knowing who or what the source is. Just this week we have had the Scotsman reporter caught posing on twitter as someone else so he could abuse SNP MPs and members without recourse to himself or his newspaper.

The reason to swap from newspapers is clear to everyone on this forum, but as with everything you read, fact check it first. As for no questions asked the only reason we have such a swing in Scotland is because we have started asking questions and the powers don't like it.

Mr Ons not sure we're on singing from the same hymn sheet, I was talking about one person who has written anti-English stuff? Nothing to do with Westminster or the rest of Scotland.

It wasn't really about the reason why they were sacked, it was more to do with one of them pushing their own online magazine and attaching this other blogger to it (the one that writes bad stuff) that I found weird? I think the rest of the UK knows we have sectarian issues and that's why I didn't mention the reason, it can be boring to most folk outwith.

Also just the general point that RedAndy has picked up, where we have no idea who/ what the source is on the internet but some seem happy to swap the corrupt newspapers for this? No questions asked?

Mrs E surely you know why they were sacked, you seem to know a lot about what they write and have a definite opinion on at least one of them. One was sacked for daring to talk about bigots and the other was sacked for posting their support for the sacked journalist. Courting controversy in Scotland means writing and talking about sectarian violence. that's why we can not end it, for fear of what will happen if you do. True to form Mrs E trying to incite a perceived hatred of England in Scotland, when in fact we just hate westminster!
