I have always been intrigued by the library at Alexandria and what happened to the knowledge held within its walls. Could someone point me to some theories about what happened to the contents, or, do we all believe everything was destroyed? Could some of the 'Knowledge of the Ancients' have been what was found in The Holy of Holies beneath Solomon's Temple? Thanks in advance

I guess I am, was simply trying to make the point that I found it strange a non-Catholic head of state could apply tis doctrine.

Been away for a while but been following not posting. There's a James Rollins book, Black Order that deals with today's poll topic. Well-researched and interesting for you literary-oriented folk out there.

I did my Ma dissertation on Gramscian theory and his most well know intimates that whilst there will always be a dominant power, there are always groups attempting to push for supremacy. There will never be utopia/nirvana a perfect world because the lure of power is too enticing.

An interesting take on an supreme being ruling class is Danielle Trussoni's Angelology books. Although I tend to give book like this a wide berth, I found it well researched and engaging AND if you replace the angelic race mentioned (along with all the biblical subterfuge) with ETs then it could be a plausible suggestion.

To a certain extent you are correct, the civilisations mentioned, along with other such as Mogol, Ottoman, Persian and so on fell for one of a few reasons. Either they over-stretched and spread themselves too thin, someone bigger and badder came along to subjugate them or an external force came along, such as religion (Roman empire fell as many of their soldiers converted from Mithraism to Christianity), the Ottoman Empire fell because Christianity expanded in search of more followers, not solely due to being conquered. The shift in religious spread is more worrying than invasion at this moment, in my opinion we are heading for another 'Crusades', if they haven't already begun. If you consider the amount of conflict that begins because of religion then we are already there.

A really interesting run down of (what I am sure are the more mainstream) conspiracy theories; some of which we have discussed recently; i. e fluoride in water and vaccinations but also a fair few that were new to me (although not new I am sure to others). Makes interesting reading.

I can see the logic of ETs doing this to explore the species etc. but what would the aims be for humans to do this?

Not really an earth-shattering geo-political conspiracy but did you know that 90% of sunglasses, regardless of band are made at the same place. I wonder what other items this applies to and how it bump up prices we pay.

More a question for Kim Philby that anything else; I'm this is a topic that has been done to death on here but forgive me. What truly happened to Alexander Litvinenko?

As I am relatively new to the site I have had to research a couple of the topics mentioned and wanted some extra guidance etc. I understand what a false flag event is but could you perhaps give me some examples of these and how they were used in this way. I have seen both Sandy Hook and the Boston bombing mentioned in this respect and wanted some extra reading material. I'm enjoying the site, I feel I have contributed pretty well but not on the same scale as other posters.
