Discussion #182Talk Sense

Chris. Len would disagree I am using my time wisely but I feel sometimes people really don't know what they're doing or the effect they have, so I will take the time, this last time, to highlight some things.

1) "...consistent that I don't believe aliens have visited the earth and I don't believe in god and I think anyone who does is wrong, just as all the believers think I am wrong. I don't hear them agreeing with me that I could be right." - b****cks mate. I have said it and so have others, if you believe something that is fine, but you are not 'right' and neither are you. You need to learn to stop telling everyone else they are 'wrong' because you do not KNOW they are. Myself, Jay, everyone else, do not say you are wrong. We merely ask that, like us, you justify your beliefs.

2) "what I consider to be ramblings about aliens and gods" - this is a more mild yet no less significant form of your backhandedness. You don't like to say 'talk of aliens', you say 'ramblings', a cheap little pop that makes your feelings crystal clear. There are ways of doing things. By saying 'I 100% disagree, I have never believed in that stuff, this is why' you have respectfully said your part. But you litter your posts with comments like 'ramblings' which leave a bad taste in the mouth. This is't about being over sensitive either, this si a serious skill you need for life, otherwise you will simply have a trail of people who bare you face to face and when you leave, call you a tw4t behind your back, because you are abrasive an unwilling to hear others or learn. In this day and age those type of people get nowhere.

3) Just to highlight, nobody has said your beliefs are wrong. You continually say we are wrong though. Where is your proof? We cannot call you wrong because we have as much proof as you do, the difference is we don't try, we just keep telling you to stop saying you are 'right'.

4) "Little thing called evolution" - little thing called sarcasm? What do you think you are gaining with this level of response? Nothing/

5) "I have no idea and neither do you and yet you choose to take the aliens option as explanation" - yes, some CONSIDER the alien stuff. That is a big generalisation though. You cannot even be bothered to separate the issues being discussed, and you generalise with statements like this. 'I have no idea and neither do you' is probably the first sensible thing I have heard you say. BUt you can't say 'AND you choose to take' - you say 'YET'. Yet? Meaning what? You cannot even believe some people do? Because your take is the right one?

6) "Unfortunately this site seems to have forgotten about these minor irritations and instead wants to focus on complete bloody fruitcake talk about gods and bloody aliens." - I have already commented on this. Where were you when we were talking about Diana, 9/11, Illuminati, the monarchy, Moon landings et al. ? Nowhere. Selective. Chris doesn't believe in Gods therefore there are no Gods. Ok mate. I don't believe in 'God' as I was taught it, but as a man of science who understands one theory of creation, the same one you believe, it is entirely possible that other beings have visited and ancient people thought they were God. What I like to do (rather like bungee jumping because I am scared of heights) is to consider that which I believe to be impossible. Just think about it, imagine if a God really appeared in your life time, or an alien. Just imagine it.

7) "Here's a question for you if aliens have been/ are visiting us why can't they just be open about it and say hello?" - well mate many people think they did. You want to talk about government cover ups, yet not this kind of cover up? There is enough supporting evidence. Do some research and you will see there are thousands of artefacts that pre-date modern man. There are so many things that cannot be explained, that lead people in the direction of ET activity, yet you will not even consider it. You can still maintain your beliefs whilst considering something. But you do not know they haven't been here, so why try and make everyone feel daft for considering they have? THAT is small-minded and arrogant.

8) "In other words imaginary beings that simple people believed in because they didn't know any better." If you still think that deities were imaginary then seriously mate just do us a favour and enrol at your nearest school in year 5. This typifies your stinking attitude to stuff that has been documented for years. Consider this - what we now call kings and presidents were called Gods thousands of years ago. They achieved a great deal more, apparently with 'no' technology or science to speak of. They were certainly not imaginary and only a simple being would say that. This is one of the most condescending, arrogant things I have read for a long time and i sums your attitude up very well. Funny how we don;t start to get any sense from you until we back you into a corner isn't it. Open your eyes, do some research, then, with well-rounded argument, come on here and put us down the proper way, with respect.

9) "Jay you know your stuff no doubt and I am not trying to pretend I know more than you" - cold have fooled us but you actually don't know that much ironically. We continue to ask for your valid input but rarely get it. If you have a theory on something lets hear it, that's what we're all here for.

10) " It is just as likely, in fact much more likely (although you'll never admit it) that aliens have never visited our planet" - aaaaah, the sound of a man caught up in his own bulls**t to such an extent he would come out with a comment like this. So you believe in evolution yet refuse to think ETs would come to our planet. Riiiiiight.

11) "My argument is that when there is a lack of real evidence for something and a lot of evidence against something it is time to take a pragmatic approach and just use some common sense." By saying this, you imply we don't have any - common sense or evidence to suggest there have been visitations. Now what you need to do is some research. Lots. You'll discover your beloved government cover ups too, so you should enjoy it. I hope I am not being too patronising.

12) "Something that, despite all the obvious intelligence on this site, is sadly lacking." There you go again with your snide comments.

13) "Frightened that there is no great mystery, no alien power, no divine intervention, maybe you're frightened to accept that maybe, just maybe this is all there is. Personally I think you are too "simple minded" to realise this." This is an interesting point. It would be a real shame if this is all there is. But there is already evidence that there was once life on Mars. But the point here is you have no right to call anyone on here simple-minded, if anything the people on here are the opposite, they are the ones willing to stretch, question and test what they think they know. You are implying that Jay is delusional and you have no right to do that. You have no idea who is right.

14) " Not that the facts will bother you, you've already been brainwashed to believe a bloody fairy story so I think I will apply the "simple minded" statement to you as well. " Really? Why are you here then?

I am not even going to begin to go through your responses to the star child stuff. You think it's fake, others are prepared to field as much evidence as possible before deciding. You don't like that.

Most of this has come from just TWO of your posts. Is it any wonder we're getting a bit fed up? Nobody minds if you don't believe something mate, nobody cares. We just like to hear explanation, not 'because I'm not simple/mental/a fruitcake like all of you' - there is no place here for that kind of crap. At this point we'd all respect you if you just made an apology but most importantly post on here with a new attitude, start a topic, discuss you point of view without putting others down, etc.

Peace.

Raz

Hi all, just been reading the posts and I'd like to make a point about belief.

I have read/pondered/studied loads of theories over the years, some about conspiracies, some about science, some about religion (my fave) just like some of you appear to have done.

If at any point during the last 20 years I had decided "right, thats the one...I BELIEVE" then my journey would be over long before I learned anything.

When you believe something you are automatically predisposed to defend it against new evidence and this is where most people fall down (IMO).

I could bang on about this all day but my shift ends in 40 mins and there's always more to add no matter how concise one tries to be.

Keep searching y'all.

Len

This is where I stand Len, I have my beliefs but or standpoints but they are always open to change.

I think if people having faith in God can help them in their life during the difficult times then fair play to them and all the best.
Its people getting others to kill in the name of God that needs to stop, even George Bush used this bullsh*t tactic to whip the American public into a frenzy now and again.

Why do you think the liverpool banter forum is so conflicted?

People beliefs are ingrained into their make up

Raz, I have made replies to some of the points raised however those posts seem to have not made it onto this page (another conspiracy?). Most of what you have said isn't true in as much as I'm not trying to make snide remarks just giving my point of view, which has offended some on here very quickly. I think you will find that I have been the one "attacked" for daring to stand my corner.
Your constant slagging off of Tamworth is interesting especially as I would agree it isn't the best town and I'm not from Tamworth, merely in it, I actually come from Saltash in Cornwall. Recently statistically named the best town in the UK. Will this make my opinion more valid as you seem to set so much importance in it? What town are you from Raz?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - your replies consisted of snide remarks and digs and nasty comments and so I deleted them. You have never tried to give your point of view, you have instead said 'this is the truth because I say so and anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot'. That is not giving your point of view, that is not a way to start a sensible discussion, that is just shouting down people who have different views to you.}

Ed001 you are a disgrace my replies were not full of snide remarks and digs or nasty comments any harsher than those used against me in posts that you happily put up. My point of view has been consistent that I don't believe aliens have visited the earth and I don't believe in god and I think anyone who does is wrong, just as all the believers think I am wrong. I don't hear them agreeing with me that I could be right. The other posters replies to me have been much more personal than my own posts but you are happy to put them up. You need to re-read all that has been posted by all parties then you will see you have been misguided in singling me out for criticism

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - rubbish. Your posts are snide and overbearing. Other people have tried to have a discussion with you and all you do is shout them down. You don't take in anyone else's point of view, you just sit their typing your close minded views and refusing to take anything in from other people. I fail to understand why you are even on here, you have no interest in talking about it, just about telling us all how you are right and, unless we believe the same as you, we are all wrong. You would be far better off writing a blog or something, because you clearly have no interest in what other people have to say and just want to tell us all what you know.}

Chris from Tamworth:
The Ed is right mate, I don't believe in God therefore I don't visit Religious forums and shoot down the viewpoints / discussions being had there.

You're a s**t-stirrer mate, get a life - if you don't believe in conspiracy theories, go hang out on a forum that interests you.

My view was that there are many conspiracy theories which I have opinions on that I feel are much more important than what I consider to be ramblings about aliens and gods. I am not telling anyone that I am right only what I believe and you Ed are being hugely selective if you can't see that everybody who has argued with me is doing exactly what you have criticised me for namely saying I must be wrong and ridiculed and insulted because I don't agree with their point if view. I'm not trying to stir any s**t I'm trying to cut through it. Surely one of the main cornerstones of a site like this is debate? Well you aren't going to get any debate if everybody thinks the same way. Still, I've been told I'm not welcome so I suppose I should just take notice and stop coming on here

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - nobody has been saying your beliefs are wrong at all, so stop lying to try and make it sound like you are being hard done by. You are the only one trying to cut out the debate by shouting down anyone who says something other than you and by trying to claim everything you see is a fact.}

Chris

If you do not believe in god thats okay no one here was trying to convert you!

However when anyone said there is a god you say they have a simple mind some people find that insulting to me its makes no difference but you do not consider other people points of view.

Your view is that there is no god so we should all except there is no god based on your opinion?

Once anyone mentions god all that they have posted is BS, do you think that is the right way to go?

Maybe for you it is, but is their a better way of handling it?

I personally don't believe in aliens however I have asked others why they believe in them? I am open to the possibility of Aliens but the evidence so far is not enough for me to believe

Do you see what's wrong?

I will do my best to briefly highlight the sort of comments that you throw around by trade Chris in Tamworth, which, judging by the first 2 lines I red, you have used so often you perhaps don't even realise. Here's one for ya. I swear this is exactly how it happened.

In the summer of 1998, just before the world cup, I was playing amateur football in Warrington. I arrived to pick up one of the lads on the way to training and just to make conversation, I asked him "who do you fancy for the world cup?".
He looked at me as if I was the stupidest person he'd ever met and said "It's fixed, France are gonna win it."
It kinda stunned me at the time and no more mention was made of it...it stayed with me though.

Len

Here's one for you mate!

I was building a house in an area I have no connections too it was in a forrest!

At the end of the house build with not much left to do just painting, carpentry, and a bit of tiling, the workers left their tools on the left hand side of the living room as you walk in the door, (no one had keys to the house except me) the next day when we arrived on site and I opened up the house the tools were on the other side of the room?

2 of the 5 workers refused to work in the house?

What happened?

We later discoved that some people were killed had work related accidents working on other housing estates in this small development!

Chris in Tamworth

I am clearly not the only one that is getting fed up with your sharp tongue and incessant snide comments. A little cheep dig here, a backhanded comment there... just give it a rest.

There are generally 2 types of people on this site: 1) those who are interested in coming on here to stoke the fire of curiosity, perhaps hear a perspective they hadn't considered, and to learn about something new. Those people will be interested in some things, have opinions on some things, will believe some things, and won't believe other things. But what this type of person is happy to do is discuss their and others' opinions and theories on conspiracies and respect a differing point of view. These people will be glad when someone gives them a helpful nudge in the direction of a new topic or a good source of information, or simply interesting reading. They are the type of people who say things like "Fair enough... I don't believe it because... even if you do..." and "I know you said you don't believe in this but go to this website, you may be surprised what you read..." and other such comments.

Then there is the other type, 2) the type of people who are not interested in what other people think, have not come on here because they are naturally interested in other perspectives, not interested in developing their own ideas on theories and events, not interested in really even respecting the ideas, enthusiasm, theories, effort and opinion of others. In fact, they probably don't really even know why they are here. They have no diplomacy. They do very little research before saying with utter conviction that anyone who believes something different to them is, one way or another, not correct, nor perhaps right in the head, nor indeed able to observe priorities in their lives. They are patronising, snide, and small minded - not because they have their beliefs and have justified them, and, having perused clear evidence on some topics, decided that they don't believe the theory presented - but because they view themselves as superior to others whose agendas don't tally with their own. Someone may think differently to Person Type 2, but that someone, in person type 2's eyes, is wrong. Type 2 not only do not want to research, but they are not interested in the idea of something they don't believe actually being true. In this sense, they are completely incapable of learning. This is you, Chris in Tamworth. You may not be the only Type 2 on here, but you are certainly the only one that is pissing people off, including the Eds.

You dislike giving grounded argument along with your sharp, derisory opinion. You make poor attempts at hiding behind the very argument we pose to you - being small minded - as though it will wash with us, or we may suddenly realise where we have been going wrong. This does not work, and we don't buy your crap. You and I both know that the small minded person is not, and make sure you read my words properly here, the one who chooses to consider something you find utterly implausible, but in fact the one who refuses to consider anything other than what they already think they know.

I hope I am not being too stupid for you. I hope I am, by giving you this time and attention, prioritising my life adequately and to the Tamworth standard.

The day mankind decides, like Chris in Tamworth, that they have learned enough, is surely the day we cease to exist as intelligent life.

Raz

P.s. FYI - I am a scientist. I have not always been one, but I have always been atheist. I looked up at the clouds as a boy and thought 'no way, it simply isn't possible' and that was that. I believe in the theory of evolution. It is plausible. What may surprise you is that I believe is spiritualism, I believe there is a POSSIBILITY of other dimensions, I believe there is no way we should be certain we are the only planet supporting life. In no terms do I believe that, like you say, there is no reason to believe aliens have or would visited this planet.

If you believe the theory of evolution then you must believe the theory of the origins of the planet and its formation, in which case you must surely believe there is every chance that there are planets out there exactly like ours, and also containing life and atmospheres different in ways we cannot even comprehend.

But aside from all the small talk, my main P.S. point is this: if, in our generation, and it is apparently our generation that things will happen, if some form of real or metaphorical anti-christ does 'rule from Zion' - Israel to you - and sh!t hits the fan, I will be more than happy to believe there are Angels, a God, Satan, aliens, all the rest of it, because one of the most talked about, passed-on events this planet has ever known will have taken place, something which as been written about since the dawn of mankind... either this one or the one from millions of years ago. Would you change yours?

Some good points there m8. I will add this though...DON'T FEED THE TROLLS.

It's quicker and has the same effect.

Chris In Tamworth. I come on here to mostly read about what others talk about and read the links that people and the Eds put up. I'm here because I'm interested in this stuff and the posters and Eds seem to know a lot more about it than I do. A lot of what is said I don't agree with or 'believe' but everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you are so quick to debunk this stuff and shoot it down why are you even here? Just leave it for people who know and people who want to learn about it. You really seem like some little pathetic know it all who has decided that everything you say is fact and everyone else is wrong. Were you bullied at school for being different and now try to conform to the mainstream of thinking that will get you a level of acceptability with your peers that you craved so much in your adolescent years? You seem be so quick to dismiss other ideas while being so adamant that you know best with no evidence what so ever. You are wasting what I and many others think is a very enjoyable site. And you are a bit of a knob.

Padawan

Padawan!

Fair play to you mate, you're spot on. Couldn't have worded that better myself.
The site explains at the top not to take anything to seriously.
No one here is trying to make people believe anything, just stating our theories to see what other like minded people think!
Each to their own I say, attacking people for their beliefs is just wrong!
Grow up Chris wee man!

Chris Tamworth

Also mate, you still haven't answered any of my questions, so I'll number them for you!

1. What is YOUR belief of human origins?
2. How could the Sumerians know of all the planets, including Nibiru, thousands of years before WE discovered Pluto?
3. Why does EVERY religion have parts of the Sumerian tablets in them?
4. What conspiracies are you into? As I'm assuming you must think that something you've been told isn't right. Otherwise, why would you be here?

Peace

Jay

1) Little thing called evolution
2) I have no idea and neither do you and yet you choose to take the aliens option as explanation
3) Again I'm not really sure without doing some research but weren't the sumerians one of, if not, the first civilisations? That being the case would it not make sense that they may have influenced what came after?
4) I happen to think there are very serious conspiracies going on between governments and major corporations all over the world that are damaging all of us. Unfortunately this site seems to have forgotten about these minor irritations and instead wants to focus on complete bloody fruitcake talk about gods and bloody aliens.
Here's a question for you if aliens have been/ are visiting us why can't they just be open about it and say hello? Why so coy? It's the one simple and obvious question that the "believers" can never answer. There's a reason for that!

Chris in Tamworth
Agree · 1 · Disagree · 0
Jay I don't know why but I feel compelled to answer your questions too haha.

1) I believe in the theory of evolution, however I find the concept of something creating everything that led to this planet being able to evolve very interesting. I find the concept of us being such a minute part of a grander scheme very exciting. I also find it really interesting that there is a theory that one main aim of the Illuminati was to make society believe there is not a God, and that the Theory of Evolution was their biggest weapon in this aim. What marvellous theory! True? Who knows!

2) I don't know, but unlike someone from a crap town, I think this is one of the most exciting things to investigate. Chances are they just figured some stuff out like we did but in terms of their star alignment with buildings etc there is clearly a lot of mystery there and it is really interesting to read.
3) That is a good question - and that bloke from that crap town gave a pretty good reason. I don't find it hard to say that because I'm not a dick.
4) I am interested in loads of conspiracies. What I am also interested in is that while there are endless posts and responses regarding the Illuminati, staged UFO landings, potential 'weaponisation' of the moon, motives for 'terrorist' attacks, Diana's death, and general chat to do with conspiring governments etc etc, that bloke from that crap town is NOWHERE to be seen. Then, when the chat deviates to things such as how we got here, ETs and alien technology, which that bloke from that town may not have realised yet actually has a lot to do with Governments after all, that bloke whose name we all know who is in or from that crap town is suddenly all over everybody like a rash and issuing forth pure sanctimony such as 'this site seems to have forgotten about these minor irritations and instead wants to focus on complete bloody fruitcake'. Very interesting. My dad had selective hearing but selective reading... this is new to me.

"Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men's views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the Field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it."

Woodrow Wilson,The New Freedom (1913)

JQuan

Ps sorry to bombard you with quotes again! If no ones interested, tell me to stop! {Ed033's Note - How about posting something from yourself.}

Personally I find quotes much more insightful, and believe them to be a much greater source for info than mere opinion. don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that opinion doesn't matter, it does. Everyone is entitled to the own opinion. However, it is based on their own perception. Why not put out a quote and allow people to make up their own minds. {Ed001's Note - what he meant was to post your insight into the quote, rather than just the quote. The quotes are interesting, but so is learning what someone else gets from them.}

In fairness to JQuan, I like reading his quotes as long as they tie in with themes on here. I think it was JQuan who was putting up quotes the other day of things like Kennedy's speech that got him shot, that sort of thing, and as long as it is topical I like it. I think by using the quote he/she is telling us his/her own way what stance they have don't you think. That is how academics do it.... they never say 'I think', they just collate things that peers have said that have been academically acknowledged and forward them, and the reader then divulges what the person thinks.

Jquan I guess others think it would be nice to hear your own opinion but don't stop the quotes!

He's an ex worker there and has alot to say. Thers loads of bases just like this one wich makes me think it's a big smoke screan for the real stories that go in places like dulce in Mexico or death valley in India. This place is weird. Also there are underground bases in Britain such as breccon or Salisbury plain. Area 51 gets people thinking but at the same time stops them thinking of other places. The goverment are not soft. What do the eds think and do you know of any bases like this.
